What was it like in the Police Academy?

When I went it was fairly easy and a few years later it became more like boot camp.
Mine was only 6 weeks at the time. Hardest part was being away from pregnant wife.
We had some PT but nothing like later years. Now I blieve the cours is 12 or 14 weeks.

A lot like military boot camp Up at 5AM exercise and run, room inspection and breakfast, 3 hours of classes, another inspection,more classes, dinner, night classes. 5-6 hours sleep and the same all over again. Was 12 Weeks in my state when I went, now 16. Does build an esprit de corps based on shared hardship and experience. Also washes those out who don't really want it badly.

No, but intense and accelerated.
