What and how Elizabeth Smart lives her life and deals with her personal tragedy is none of your business!!! You are completely biased towards the Mormon religion and we were all taught that God created all men equally. And as far as becoming a predator, I think we should worry about you being a predator. Do you think if she were you sister you would think it healthy for her to "PUBLICLY" forgive her rapist. Doing so publicly would give peace and comfort to the wrong person, the RAPIST!!! Maybe you need to reread your question and see how bitter it was!!! Karma always come back at you so chose your sides correctly!!!

Maybe you should leave this to Elizabeth and her support. Publicly making her seek forgiveness for a crime that was committed against her is wrong. Why should she have to forgive evil anyway? Haven't you ever heard of righteous anger? Maybe she should just stay focused on moving forward with her life and not stay focused on this horrible act that was committed against her.
Just because she was raped does not mean that she will commit that crime against anyone else. It seems like you are crucifying her in public all over again. Why do you do this to her? Maybe she should just forgive herself and stop blaming herself for this and move forward. I think she should have righteous anger and fight for the rights of other survivors of rape. I also believe that she need not forgive her rapist for she is human and sometimes we just need to allow God to handle the things in which we can't. Maybe if people like you would leave her alone and stop trying to force her to conform to your way of thinking the girl can move away from the public humiliation she was forced to feel to begin with. Let her heal at her own rate. It seems like you are punishing her for what evil did to her. Why should she have to embrace evil? You want her to embrace evil and forgive evil, maybe that's the problem. Maybe it is people like you that don't want her to forget what happened and want her to face it publicly is why she hasn't been able to give it completely to God. After you have been through what she went through then and only then should you say she should forgive evil and do it publicly, get raped then talk about forgiving evil and do it nationally!

As a victim of rape as a teenager, I can honestly that she could not be in a better position than a member of the LDS Church. Our faith provides counseling to people who have been through something as traumatic as rape. Also, a loving family is so VERY important in this healing process. She aparently has a close loving family and will help her through this. I learned that I could not live with hate for my attacker and was able to forgive him for taking something so precious to me as my virtue. But he only took it physically and not morally.
We need to leave this child alone and let her family and friends where she lives take responsibility for assisting her on the road to recovery.

Real Mormon leaders that I have known would never drag a young woman's name through a world wide forum. Real Mormon leaders that AI have known would pray for you.

Firstly, we are NOT Elizabeth Smart's religious leaders, so this question falls outside our stewardship. It falls upon Elizabeth Smart's parents, home teachers, bishop, and stake president to help her overcome the horrors she endured.
Secondly, I hate to see anyone exploit that nightmare in a public forum.

I don't believe for one minute that the Mormon church could release anybody's demons. The only power on earth that can do this, is Christ.

It's so funny to see people of different Christian sects arguing with each other. This must be what it feels like to be a doctor observing patients in a psychiatric ward.
