I just bought an HP at Circuit City and I have Vista Home Premium. I know it doesnt have word and stuff on it. The guy that worked there told me I couldn't install Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 that I bought for it. He said I had to use a Vista Word and Excel or something like that. I didn't see any Vista packages with Word. Was he yanking my chain so I would use them to install Word and stuff or will the Microsoft Office Home and Student I just bought work or not work on my new computer? Thanks!

He was dead wrong. Even Microsoft doesn't yet have enough hubris to try to force people to buy Office 2007 to run on Windows Vista. The older versions (surely the recent ones, XP (2002) and 2003) will certainly install on Vista.
And to compound his stupidity, you HAVE Office 2007.

He's crazy. Heck, I'm using office 2003 on my vista machine.

i installed office 2000 on vista for somebody the otherday! and on my box im running 2007 so they all work.

No, while for a 5th of the fee or much less you will get some thing almost as reliable and in basic terms as long-lasting in the previous you should improve returned. Edit: additionally that'll have not any ******* battery existence and be extensive and heavy.

office 2007 i would say. that's new than office 2003. latest version out there.
