I am a us citizen who had a daughter born overseas. i had to pay a lot of money to get her visa, after she was here then all i had to do was get her a us passport since by law she is a us citizen. how is it possible that we want to allow illegals the opportunity to stay w/o paying penalties. I have family overseas, but if i see that the govt is opening the door for legality to all those here, i will call all my friends and family to cross the border quick! by the way, i am a proud legal latina. my racism is against all people that want to change the rules of other countries instead of helping their own country evolve. pay your fees!

I think you should get the same crazy benefits that the illegals get when they cross illegally. I mean why not, you waited your turn right?

America is like a big redwood tree. And illegals are a fungus growing rapidly on its base. The tree can only give the fungus so much of its resources before it starts to eventually wither away and die. Its only an analogy but it is the hard truth.

the death of the Roman empire was because they started selling Roman citizenship

What "we" are you talking about? This "we" doesn't want to allow any illegal the opportunity to stay in this country. I don't care how long they have been here. If they have been here 50 years...well, that's just 50 years they have been breaking the law. I have to live by the law, and I am a citizen here. I respect all who have come here legally, gone through the arduous paperwork and delays, and achieved citizenship. I have no respect for lawbreakers. God only knows what is going on in our government...I think they are all insane.

First of all, thank you for doing it the right way. Please don't become what you're fighting and don't sacrifice your integrity just because our government and law enforcement has none and has become lawless. It is up to us to ensure that our government and our law enforcement tows the line and lives by the same rules as we must live by. Therefore, we just need to step up to the plate and put a stop to their arrogance and their lawlessness and make them pay.

All of us, especially law-abiding U.S. Citizens should get every dollar of taxes they paid -- every dollar of the budget and expenditures for INS, ICE, Department of Homeland Security, etc. refunded to them -- meaning that law-abiding citizens shouldn't have to pay taxes for the next 40 years. All the salaries from all these government employees who have failed to enforce the laws and all the Legislators who passed the laws with no intention of having them enforced should have their pensions revoked, their salaries revoked and they should all be imprisoned as enemy combatants and tried for fraud, misfeasance, malfeasance, nonfeasance, conspiracy to commit fraud, mail fraud, wire fraud, organized crime, conspiracy to commit organized crime, harboring fugitives, and about 50 other charges that I can think of but will not enumerate on here. If Governor Ryan can have his pension confiscated and he can be tried for crimes against the people then it should be easy to get all those Legislators and employees on the chopping block as well.

You make such a good point! People have to understand that people who come into our borders without the required process are BREAKING THE LAW. Even though they may or may not create a problem, the laws are there for a reason, and, if not applied consistently, we will be in for a lot of problems.

It's so unfair to people who come here legally to just shrug at those who break our laws.

If you get money back then all American taxpayers deserve at least the amount that the illegals have sucked from our country! I'm thankful that you are legal and it shows that you do have self pride and pride in where you live. I wish everyone had the good sense to be racist in the way you proclaim to be!

Sure you can get your money back for being law abiding, as soon as EVERYONE else who obeys all the other laws of the land get compensation for being law abiding too.

Anytime a system is changed, someone will feel hard done by.

C'est la vie.

I agree with you. I have several friends from different countries who came here legally. They are offended by the possible new laws.

It is unfair for people immigrating to the US legally if the govt will grant citizenship for illegal immigrants.

Ask King G.W. about that. How "tragic" you had to spend any
money on your own child. Do we charge the government to
have "our" children delivered, to become an "American" ?
Be thankful for what you got. <}:-})
