I was driving my car making a left turn into the driveway. When a car struck the right rear quater panel of my car. It was mostly my fault because i kinda cut her off, but the speed limit was only 30mph and the skid marks from her car shows that she was going over 30. She was going to go through her insurance but realized she doesnt have collision so she wants me to pay the $400 it will cost to pay for her car. I dont have collision either though. But i was thinking if i did go through insurance since we both dont have collision would we just pay for our own cars so i wouldnt have to pay for hers?

You would probably end up paying for hers, if she took you to small claims court. It would be a crap shoot which way the judge would go, but I expect in her favor since you turned in front of her. (You should have yielded right of way to her, since you were making the turn} Pay the $400. That's very, very cheap for collision repair, so it is not like she is trying to rip you off.

usually without collision, the insurance will pay for the other car (if it was your fault) and not yours. thats why you have to have insurance. since it was your fauly and I assume you got the ticket, your insurance will pay the damage to her car. however, if the other drive also got a ticket for speeding then the insurance companies will fight over only paying a certain percentage of the damages. again though, with out full coverage, your vehicle most likely will not get paid for.

It doesn't matter if she was going 25 mph or 50. You cut her off. Left turn always yields right of way, unless in a dedicated left turn lane with a green arrow. You pay for her car.

Your liability covers the other vehicle and injuries, not collision. Collision coverage covers only your vehicle, or in your case, NOTHING covers your vehicle damage.
'You kinda cut her off---'. I suggest you pay up.

Collision has nothing to do with it. Your fault, you pay. Tell your insurance company now.

it would go under the liability part. . . if it was her fault! IDK this is kinda weird. If you admit it is your fault then you might have to pay for damages to her car. . . collision only pays for damage to your own car, liability covers damage to the other persons car. Let the insurance company's fight over who is to blame for this one!

You should have filed a police report IMMEDIATELY. Since you didn't, you both need to pay for your own cars.

It's always a smart idea to have full coverage.
