you say that the Bible was inspired by God, that when it was translated, it was inspired, and how does the inspireing happen? they have to listen to their heart, intuition, etc. BUT, the heart is diseatful. Cant be trusted. dont get me wrong, i do read the Bible, but when I read it, I have to listen to what God puts on my heart, to be able to get anything from it, there for I still have to trust God more than what the Bible says. you can read it a 100 times, and still get something different each time you read it, sepending on what you are going through, so yes I use it at a map, so how can you say that I cant listen to God, who is part of me? its a sin, yet that sin wrote the Bible. You just have to know who is speaking, God or satan, well duh, if satan was saying to do something it sure would not have a good outcome would it? so then you say, no thanks, wont do that. I do see a lot of people who just quote Bible scripture, but I am not so sure, they are really listening to God.

" BUT, the heart is diseatful. "

I cannot imagine listening to a philosophy lecture by someone who'd write that.

Hon, you're trying to run before you can walk.
Heck, before you can even crawl.

It is more than just the heart.

When a person is born of God becoming a childe this is because of the miracle of spiritual birth. With this spiritual birth comes spiritual eyes & ears to see & hear the spiritual.

The bible individual books are written by man moved by God. Either the Father, the Word or the Holy Spirit. As people the Holy Spirit is our connection. The Prophets of the Old testament had the Holy Spirit & heard the Lord give them a Word, and the Holy Spirit helped them pen the bible. That is why the Bible is trust worthy.

Like Revelation. John had an out of body experience. Jesus spoke to John, Angels spoke to John, etc... And He penned revelation by the inspiration of the Holy Ghost, & so is a book that is true.

We don't live after the letter but after the Spirit. So, the same verse can tell you something new each time, as you read other verses similar or connected somehow & then new understanding. This doesn't mean that the way you understood it before is wrong. Just that you are learning more. There is more understanding. This is the Holy Spirit enlighening scripture to our new born spiritman.

Quoting bible scripture as the Spirit gives it to you is from God. But, it is true that the devil tempted Jesus using bible scripture, then twisting it. See, this is the devils trick since he tempted Adam & Eve. The Holy Spirit also gives us the gift of discernment. That gives us understanding when the devil adds or takes away from the Word of God.

Gods written Word is very powerful for the Christian to have a victorious life. The Word of God won't contradict itself. So? The devil will add a deceiptful lie, and to be obedient to God, you need to replace that thought & speak Gods Word out loud that is the truth that overcomes the lie.

Like a thought or someone could tell you that you are a mistake & never should have been born. You can either believe the lie or replace it out loud with the verse, "It is written, That God saw me in my mothers womb, & I am wonderfully made." A lot of good verses like this can be found on http://www.fathersloveletter.com . Also purchasing a bible promise book is a life saver, because you can look up the area you may be hearing a lie & find Gods Word on it. Then speak out Gods truth everytime the devil sends a thought your way that is a lie.

Quoting scripture is the victory. Who is he who overcomes, he who is born of God (spiritual birth). And what is our victory, our faith. (Our faith in God & His Word.)

Quoting scripture in the Spirit is the sword that divides between the spirit & the soul. See our soul makes the decision to believe the devils lies or believe the Word of God & follow after the Spirit. The Spirit speaks to us in our newborn spiritman. To die to the lusts of the flesh (devils temptation on our flesh to yell, cuss, etc...) & make the soul choice to follow after the Spirit (fruits are faith, hope, love, joy, peace, patience, truth, honesty, etc...).

Obedience to the Word of God is everlasting rewards. So this is saving of our soul. Our soul choices. This saves us every day. There are so many rewards God wants to give us.

Faith comes by hearing & hearing a word about Christ / God. So hearing the Word preached builds faith. Hearing yourself speak Gods Word builds faith. Praying in the Spirit builds up your most Holy Faith.

2Ti 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: Something else to remember is to study what is said. Acts 17:10 ¶ And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews.
11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
I don't always agree with what is said, but I study the scriptures and let the Holy Spirit tell me what is going on.
If you doubt any of the scripture, then how could you trust any of it, or at best know what to trust?

The Holy Spirit who is also in us told the prophets what to write. God says that He does nothing until He tells His prophets first.

It is true what you are saying that a Christian can read the Bible and understand Scripture and an unbeliever can read the Bible and believe it to be contradictory. It does definitely depend upon who we are listening to. Whether it be God or Satan. Good point that you have made. May help atheists realize why they do not understand Scripture.

God is immutable, He does not change, and His Word does not change. It is a knowledge of His Word that tells us what is right and what is wrong. The problem that you will face is simply how do you know that what your heart is telling you to do is right or wrong? You have to compare it with the truth, the Bible. There is no other way to know. You can't trust your feelings, they can change with the circumstances of the day. There is a lot of things that I have heard people say under the phrase "The Lord told me to..." that a simple knowledge of God's word would clearly sho is wrong. Those people are deceived.

Christians think inspired means that God actually talked to specific choosen people. Therefore, the entire bible is in effect the Word of God. However Jesus told us that only His Words are the True Words of God.

The Words Moses and the Prophets spoke were not the TRUE Word of God, the words spoken by the Moses and the Prophets were lies mixed with truth. John told us that
"for laws were given by Moses, but grace and TRUTH came by Jesus Christ.
Jesus Himself told us Moses gave you not that bread from heaven, but My Father giveth you the TRUE bread from heaven.

Jesus also told us "all that were before me (Moses and the Prophets) were thieves and robbers" The Word of God is the New Name of Jesus, and is found in the Old Testament only 4 times.

But Jesus tells all concerning Moses and the Prophets in Revelation 13:10-18. Your mind will not except the truth, therefore you must be born again, to be born again is to forget everything as told in Luke 11:24-26 and Matthew 12:43. but look at the warning Jesus gives, in your next life you will be worse than in this one.

You are very correct in your assessment that many who just "quote bible scripture' are not really Christians. And yes, the same verse in some cases can be interpreted in more than one way, and all can be correct. For instance, what do you make of the following verse from John, chapter 6?;

From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.

I believe in the letter of the Bible, but also understand it can mis-interpreted. For example, the verses which point to "rapture".
