First, it's natural to be afraid. Men who look like professional body builders have fainted at the sight of needles!
Second, if someone got "poked 7 times", then it was either because multiple tests were needed (usually, they just draw multiple samples from a single insertion), or the vein was difficult to find, or the intern, nurse, or doctor needs more practice (in the old days, they used to practice injecting oranges!).
Third, just turn your head away from whichever arm is being poked, and try not to tense up, which makes it harder to insert the needle.
And, if a few tears roll down your cheek, it's nothing new under the sun! Someone will probably give you a tissue, and maybe even a hug, and, if you're really lucky, a trip to your favorite ice cream shop for being so brave! ;)

Just relax. Nothing terrible can happen, and the pain only lasts at most for a minute. It'll be fine. =) The anticipation of getting an injection is worse than the actual needle!

just bring something that usually relaxes you, like an mp3 player or something, and bring something squishy to bite on , and just close your eyes.
