Hi:

I am trying to get signed and stamped pay stubs from my previous employer from the past 1 year but haven't been provided one till now...I must have at least 100 request mails but to no avail. Though I have received assurances time and again that I will receive those signed and stamped pay stubs, I havent been given one.

I would personally like to lodge a formal complaint against them...Could anybody tell me where could I do it?

Thanks and Regards

Amit

I need them to get the work permit in UK...Home office here demands Original copies of the pay stubs but as our company back in US never used to give us the hard copy of the paystubs, Home office has asked me to get the pay stubs signed and stamped from the company to confirm the validity...Hope it helps...

Amit,

I assume signed and stamped pay stubs is a UK thing. In the US we have W-2 forms that are legal proof of income. Your employer has 30 days to provide them after your request or by Jan 31 of next year if you do not request it. If he fails to provide the W-2 within 30 days simply notify the IRS in writing and mail a copy to your employer. Should jar them loose!

This may explain why you have not gotten the singed and stamped thing. Also, don't send emails or regular mail. Talk to a live HR person in your company. Confirm all decisions in writing and mail by cert mail return receipt.

You may need to educate your UK contact that W-2s are the proof of income.

Good Luck

Signed and stamped paystubs? I've never had that in all the years I've worked. Paystubs on forms with the company name, yes, but not signed or stamped.

Paystubs normally come with your paycheck - I've never heard of anyone demanding copies later. You can get a copy of your W-2 from an employer or previous employer, but why are you looking for paystubs? I don't believe there is any law saying they have to provide copies of those for past pays.

I have never in my life heard of any employer going out of their way to provide pay "stubs" and "stamped" ones is almost laughable (if I knew you weren't so serious about this matter). If you need them for something. Ask the requestor what other information will suffice. Ask if you can get a letter from the employer on their letterhead with a total amount of your gross and net pay and with deductions listed, ask if that will suffice, and if the Human Resources director could sign that letter. There must be an alternative.

When we here in US are asked for such a thing, we merely have the HR director sign a letter (their letterhead) with the salary figures, and dates of employment.

Lodging a complaint will get you nowhere.
