Any advise would be greatly appreciated. What is the adverage amount of time usually spent shooting a wedding and can someone give me an idea of the usual cost charged?

Cost/expense/charges are very hard to quote. A lot of it depends on region, location, and other things.

As for time involved. Are you shooting pre-wedding portraits, during wedding shots, post wedding bride, groom, wedding party, mom & dads, in the church, outside of the church, the reception line, first dance, etc...

It could turn into a chunk of time. If your already contracted, it should all be spelled out in the contract.

Unless you are extremely accomplished as a photographer I agree with fhotoace. In the distant past I shot weddings with a friend. Trust me, it ain't easy.

Even if you are a very competent photographer fhotoace is right - don't try this until you've worked with an experienced pro a few times.

Call up a few wedding photographers. They're in the phone book.
