Actually, if the doctor had a cross on his office door I'd run like the wind (in the other direction). Believers are nuts and there's no way they are cutting me open.

100% of the brain surgerons rely on medicine. Probably 99% of them rely on faith as well.
Would you refuse to be operated on by a Christian? Are you that prejudiced?

Both. I would hope he would use his god given gift of operating on me. But most of all I would hope he prayed before he began the surgery that God would guide his hands and mind to do the right things properly. God plus science is good medicine.

Even with all of the modern equipment, some brain surgeons just take their "best guess" sometimes.

well, if he is a brain surgeon, then i would have to assume that he is well-qualified-you don't just walk into a hospital and decide to start performing surgery...your question seems to assume that a well-qualified brain surgeon would be without faith...quite a leap you're making, wouldn't you say?
