Religions suck because they mostly get hung up on rules and minute details, which they argue over with other religions constantly and start wars with other nations about frequently. Many have lost sight of the big picture - which, as you say, is that God is cool.

Do your own thing. Develop your own relationship with God. If you want to, look at all religions and pull out the stuff that makes sense to you. Or, make it up on your own. When it comes right down to it, it's only between you and God. Nothing else matters.

I think the problem is that some religions focus so much more on the man made rules that God is lost in the shadows of the religions bylaws.

Religion sucks because it is a bunch of man made rules and regulatons on how to worship God. Period.

I attend a non-denominational church that focuses on the new testament and Jesus teachings. It is a lot different from religious churches.

Sweet Pea it sucks because it is not a belief factor. There is a difference between a belief and a religion. God bless!

Humans are animals, which kinda proves evolution. They take a good idea and find a reason to go nuts in religious texts. They decide that their God wants them to kill for Him.

I love God, and I love my Church. We got a kid out the window during Sunday School; I sung the Top Gun song to a sixty-year-old women with them as background singers; they taught me what Jesus was really like. I mean, after lecture after lecture of "be responsible," "make the right friends," "grow mature," Jesus comes up and says, "Give up everything; love everyone; the children get the kingdom; the wise will fall and love is the only commandment!!!" :D

Religions main purpose should be to help keep peace and hope alive, but many misinterpret it and use it to hate and demean others.
