Basically I take a smoothie for breakfast but often find myself snacking before lunch time

the addition of fats and/or fiber would slow the amount of time that it takes the contents of the stomach to migrate further down the gastrointestinal tract helping you to feel full longer. you could add in some flax seed meal, wheat germ or peanut butter.

nuts, or peanut butter, silken tofu, some soy milk or natural fruit juice instead of water, apple sauce or soy yogurt..and ice cold makes it seem more filling(to me at least) so add double the ice! add anythingggggg..smoothies are fun to make so be creative :D xoxoxo

It depends on you.
But still there is one thing which can help you to some extent and that is always involve yourself into work so that you forget about everything except that work.
