Why do Christians teach thier kids the FACTS of creationism, when the only refference they have is the Bible? Why do Christians put their faith in the works of Man? Why can't Christians understand that the Bible is nothing but 'Chinese Whispers' from stories told over 150-200 years after the fact?
Why can't you be a believer in God, without the Bible?
how can you teach myth to your kids, as truth?

we know that we did not come from today's apes, we are cousins, we evolved from AN ape, there are several primates groups, we are just one of them.

kooky, look at a sea lion, it has legs that are fused together like flippers ti make it easier to swim, but they still have all the characteristics of legs. why would God make the whale to swim inthe ocean, then make it breath air? that animal must have started life on terra.

genesis was written 1900yrs ago, give or take, the people who wrote this still lives in houses made of clay and mud, they did not have the advancements in Science that we have today and they surely didn't have the knowledge to understand them, COME ON people, these guys had just got past the belief that a god flew across the sky in his chariot turning day into night. how can you say it creationism is real, when it was written by these mentally challeged people who still believed in magic. do you still believe in magic?

hey here is one for you; I just thought about a question asked the other day, the question asked; if you believe in Saints, Jesus, and the holy Ghost, does this mean you believe in Vampires, werewolves and fairies. One of the answers given by a christian was NO! I dont believe in them, but if they were in the bible I would. is this not the craziest thing!

some have mentioned that I have placed the book of Genesis being written 1900 yrs ago, this is a mistake on my part I am sorry. the book of Genesis is part of the old Testament, what I meant was the Bible was re-written at this stage and the NT added. sorry for the confusion. and the term ; believe the word of man, means that the bible is mans interpretation of the stories of your Gods word, not your Gods word.

"Why do Christians teach thier kids the FACTS of creationism, when the only refference they have is the Bible?"
Actually, the sources I usually use when debating against the Fairy Tale of Evolution are accredited scientists.
"Why do Christians put their faith in the works of Man?"
Loaded question, assumption that the bible is nothing more than "the works of Man".
"Why can't Christians understand that the Bible is nothing but 'Chinese Whispers' from stories told over 150-200 years after the fact?"
Please show evidence to support your contentions.
"Why can't you be a believer in God, without the Bible?"
If you want to believe that you can, that's your business.
"how can you teach myth to your kids, as truth?"
Third example of argument from assertion.
"look at a sea lion, it has legs that are fused together like flippers ti make it easier to swim"
Begs the question by assuming that the sea lion's legs were once unfused.
"genesis was written 1900yrs ago, give or take, the people who wrote this still lives in houses made of clay and mud,"
Genesis was written 100 years AFTER (give or take) Jesus was born? And this is an appeal to novelty. Since when were people who lived in houses of clay and mud automatically deemed to be wrong?
"dancing with unicorns; you are a true christian, one that believes in god and not the myths and magic of the church. you are a christian I can respect."
And since when did you determine who is and isn't a true Christian?

What is God ,Know one really knows, teaching a child one thing or another only sets boundaries for them to live a life that can be fulfilling any text that is taught can be right or wrong as long as they live a peaceful and happy life. When the teaching of a religion of any kind makes people hate each other for what they believe then in many ways this is not a good example of belief. Look out into the night sky at the vastness of the universe which is to large to comprehend and ask yourself does anyone really know the truth about anything. We must live our lives in peace and harmony for life is over in the blink of an eye, and just memories remain.

The one question that stood out was "why do Christians put their faith in the works of man"...are you suggesting that science is NOT a work of man? By that argument, you must also reject scientific explanations for the origins of the universe since all science is a product of the mind of man!
If you want to lable creation a myth, that is your right...but you can NOT "prove" to yourself or anyone else that it is a myth! Suggesting that you "know" creation is false reveals a level of arrogance that isn't consistent with the foundations of science and reason. Using the same logic that evolutionists use to explain the absence of transitional fossils necessary to support their theories, "just because we haven't found them yet doesn't mean they don't exist". Thank God that "true scientists" accept that our knowledge of the universe is incomplete and are willing to continue searching for evidence and new knowledge.
When I teach my son the facts of creation, the story in Genesis is only the starting point...a simple story that is entirely appropriate to a child's level of understanding. The bible is NOT the only reference that supports creationism...many scientific sources also provide support...even some of the "evidence" that some people mistakenly interpret as proof of alternative theories (e.g., evolution).
The simple fact is that science and reason can't prove OR disprove the story of creation just as it can't prove OR disprove alternative theories of the origins of the earth and the life on this planet. All beliefs are just that, beliefs...all answers require a "leap of faith". If you want to put your faith in science alone, that is your right...I prefer to put my faith in God and use science and reason to support my faith!

Understand you don't believe of bible which I have many questions came out when I was young. These questions are including god make himself a mistake that his products:people don't believe him and not obey him. He made us traps to have a wisdom tree fruit to create sins and the life tree to have a everlasting life. He made only Eve and Adam which is a family member to marry each other then have us.
After Noah saved one pair of animal in his ship and there was only Noah? How we became his generation? There was only 2 brother in the world were Guayin and Alba. God only love Alba atler contribution and not acept Guayin who killed his brother then.
then who was marry Guayin to have us?
Still now, I went through most of the religious including Hindru, Toa, Budhaist, Moslim, Cathoric, Jew, and Christian. Then I can find my answers in Budhaist who are so many, so many wisdom people discussed together including material and psychology. How the world came from and How the world be ruined. Look at the karmas and look back our mind come up and gone, you will understand all the world and your mind are our traditional willing extending to on and on.
All the sutras such as bible, Veda, Kuran, and Toa of which are their hollyman said to his followers or taught to their followers how to make a happier life. If you follow the holly book to do, you will not happy at all. If you skip you holy book away, you will not happy at all. The reality is find out by yourself none can help.

Because of a lot of reasons I suppose, but really it's because you can never, ever underestimate the intelligence of your average american. People are stupid. That's the short answer.
I'm thinking of forming a new group: People for the Killing of Kent Hovind. Anyone want to join?
And John: Do you even KNOW what DNA stands for? And you do realize that hydrogen is even more abundant than carbon in organic materials?

You're right that there is little of the science of creation in the Bible. That's why we don't teach our kids creationism from the Bible but rather from science.
And if you truly believe that the creation account was recorded 200 years after the fact, then that's more than what most Christians believe. I admire your faith!

Simple brilliant logic, "something as intricate and amazing as a universe possible of supporting life could not evolve purely by chance."
That's the premise, I think. It's a smart premise, it's hard to disagree with. But evolution is a fact. So the traditional creationist response of 6 days 6000 years ago cannot be correct.

They're scared of the truth; but you knew that, right? They're afraid to question what they've been taught all their lives, because that belief TEACHES them not to question. They're afraid of what might happen if they actually have to deal with EVIDENCE instead of faith. I believe in God, but I've also got sense enough to believe the evidence of my own eyes. I see no conflict in faith and evolution, and in my opinion, those who do simply lack imagination. Probably a couple dozen IQ points got mislaid as well, but that's another issue...

Yeah, but it comes from all sides. For example, no human has ever observed abiogenesis. In plain Engish, nobody has ever seen a living cell which did not come from another living cell. It may have happened but nobody's seen it happen, nobody can prove that it's possible. Yet people teach their kids that abiogenesis is proven fact. The masses are not as educated as they think they are.
