YES, when we went to Alaska a few years ago our Sprint phone worked in all of the cities. We made calls from a couple places in Alaska. But when the ship is "at sea" you may have trouble getting a signal.

You should be able to get coverage. But Call your cell company FIRST before you leave. Those coverage areas change all the time. Also you have a better shot using your phone near the ports of call rather then out at sea.

I have Verizon and was able to get reception when i was in port. I would assume SPrint would work also.
