I always make the distinction like this: Envy is a healthy appreciation for anothers successes etc... & wanting it for yourself. Jealousy is the unhealthy form of Envy. But I have asked dictionary.com to clarify the exact definitions.
Envy: a feeling of discontent or covetousness with regard to another's advantages, success, possessions, etc.
Jealousy: 2. mental uneasiness from suspicion or fear of rivalry, unfaithfulness, etc., as in love or aims.
Covetousness: (Just for those who don't know:) inordinately or wrongly desirous of wealth or possessions; greedy. (So maybe I always had it backwards??)
Hope this helps?!

one of the mortal sins! it's called mortal because it gives a nasty sensation to the person who feels it. it makes her say all kinds of bitter comments for another person and do all kinds of abominations to the person whom she loathes. it's leathal to one's soul. it poisons you slowly.
I've felt it and i'm pretty sure others felt it for me!
