I recommend start searching in your junior year of high school, too. I recommend applying for every single scholarship that you meet the consideration criteria no matter how big or small the scholarships is worth. It is less money for you or your family to pay in the tuition. Before submitting an application, I recommend several people proofreading the essay. I will include some free places in the community and on the web to locate scholarship money.

First, high school seniors can locate a list local scholarships and state grants & scholarships at the high school guidance office along with applications.

Second, your local public library has a book listing scholarships with some not even listed on the web.

Finally, I recommend joining several free membership scholarship search websites. There is a scholarship for almost anything including wearing duct tape to the senior prom. Most of these are national in nature.

Good luck!

I remember when I was in high school, the school counselor let us know of scholarship oppertunities for freshman, sophomores, and juniors, as well as seniors. There are also programs that will pay you while you are in high school. Ask your counselor if they know of any.

I don't think its ever too early to start looking for scholarships.
