This is the very reason I think there is more to this God and good vs. evil thing than we all know.
We are all just talking. None of us really know.
The devil has a purpose. God creates everything for a purpose. We don't always know the purpose.
This also makes me re-think the heaven/hell issue.
If we are put into this test experiment, why condemn anyone to hell?
This is the reason I say God must have another plan to educate us in the proper way as opposed to mans way.
This education process will be during the 1,000 years after the return of Christ, after satan is imprisoned and out of the way to interfere with our physical human minds.
God has to offer another way if it says "...it is not God's will that any should perish."

Whoever said that doesn't have a sense of humor, and my Bible doesn't say God created Satan, or at least no so I have ever read. Satan was an angel, and tried to overthrow god, and was cast out of heaven, and given hell to rule over. Those who can't or won't "cut the mustard" are given to him for eternal torment. Now think about it, If criminals had no fear of punishment, there would be a lot more crime. Stands to reason that if there was nothing for man to fear in the afterlife, then what would be the purpose of worshiping God.
God gave man a free will to choose, but if he had no choice, what would be the point?

Great question. What I think it comes down to is free will. God didn't want a bunch of "yes men" when he created us. He wanted actual thinking, caring, opinionated beings to have a relationship with. Each of us is unique in what we bring to that relationship - even Satan.

And, in the context of Christianity, Satan has a valuable job - to hold in the souls of those so evil that they would attack other souls or even living humans. If God had destroyed Satan, he would have had to start destroying everyone who sinned (at least the serious sins). As it was, He chose to preserve His creations instead of destroying them.

I am glad you seek to reason things through. Noone should accept something as fact that doesn't make sense to them. If we did, the universe would be a boring place!

Read "Paradise Lost" by John Milton. Great dramatist that he was, Milton gave Satan the best lines. Dramatically speaking, the villain must always be powerful so that the hero will have a worthy opponent. That's Entertainment! There's no business like show business! And the Show will go on as long as there is an audience.

God gives us all free will to good or evil...You're wondering why God doesn't just eliminate satan. Well, why doesn't He just eliminate all evil?
Because then He would also eliminate our freedom to choose...Would you rather live without your free will?
I wouldn't.

Maybe God should just eliminate YOU the next time you want to do something bad? Hey, that's your logic...not mine!

And the result of choosing to reject God is the same for everyone...eternal seperation from Him. If we choose to live without God, He'll give us exactly what we want.

And our souls are no prize, nor will they be any comfort to the devil when he gets what's due him.

Looks like you're the one dealing in "myth."

Yeah, it's all pretty confusing...
Seems as if Christians have spent something like 2000 years complicating what Jesus died to make simple, doesn't it?

We may never understand the whole thing completely, but I have wondered this...if God had already created everything, wouldn't that have included all of us, too?
Do you think He should have trashed the whole project when Satan rebelled?
God doesn't "give" any of His children to Satan. He does, however, allow Satan to tempt us. I guess it is because He knows, as we do, that faith that can't be tested can't be trusted.
I don't think it's a game at all. I think it is very serious business. God is raising Himself a family of sons and daughters...
And as we all know...growing up is not easy...

OH, btw...Satan isn't being "rewarded"...in the end, his fate is worse than anyone else's.

It is the Divine Plan. In our pre-existance, before He made the Earth, Jesus said we should all have the freedom to choose to go back to our Heavenly Father after we have taken the test of earth. Satan wanted us to be forced to stay on the strait and narrow, eliminating our free will. Heavenly Father chose Jesus' plan for us and Satan rebelled and argued. One third of the Heavenly Hosts agreed with Satan and Satan wanted to use them to wage war on the rest of us. Heavenly Father cast him and his followers out. On earth, we have the free agency to follow the word of God and return to him, and continue on our journey of perfection and have a Heavenly Family of our own. Our God tells us we cannot sit on the fence, we must choose His way or Satan's way. God does not destroy his bad children, he casts them from His sight. He did not tell Satan he can have his bad children. Satan is our brother, just as Jesus is. The choice to go with Satan is ours and ours alone. We know the rules, it is up to us to choose to follow them or not.

He wants us all to return to Him because he loves us and wants us all to choose the right path. We are God's children; think of the Earth as our school. We have to come here and learn to be able to progress, just as our children must learn at school to progress into productive adults.

I am in agreement with the Cricket.

1. God in did not create evil and sin, but he did allow for it because he wanted to give them a choice - free will.
2. Adam and Eve chose to sin and separated themselves from God because of their sin.
3. God did not leave them to suffer in their sin. He had a back up plan - redemption through his son Jesus Christ. Even in the Garden of Eden, he covered their naked bodies with animal skins. These animals were the first blood sacrifices made to cover the sins of man. It was a foreshadow of the coming of Christ to cover all the sins of mankind - The Lamb of Christ.

The Gospel of Christ.
1. Man is a sinner
2. Jesus is the Savior
3. Jesus died to pay the penalty for our sins.
4. Jesus rose from the dead.

To question God's timing about when Satan will be destroyed is not our place. He is God and He will complete his plan in His time. All he asks us to do is choose his back up plan...redemption and salvation through his son Jesus Christ.

Assuming that the Bible is completely true, and Christianity is the one and only way to heaven, there's actually a simple answer to that. You just have to see the whole picture.

It's a matter of cause and effect.

Since Satan was allowed to continue to exist, he was then able to tempt Eve. Because he was able to tempt Eve, both she and Adam succumbed to temptation. Then sin entered the world, and man was separated from God. Because man was separated from God, God had to make a way to bridge the gap. First, laws were given. But God knew that eventually the law would only exist for itself, rather than to please Him. So eventually, Jesus would have to come.

Basically the entire thing, since time began, was because mankind NEEDED to fail, in order to be redeemed.

I tried to make this short, because I really can't explain it very well, and so it would be somewhat easy to understand. But it was something I'd always wondered about myself.

The mistake that we humans most often make is that we refuse to see the forest for the trees. If you look at the whole picture, or at least TRY to, it does make sense.

I hope this helped.

long tale to bypass counter to the Bible. God supposedly created the tree of expertise of sturdy and evil. God instructed Adam to not consume of that is fruit. Adam ate and evil grew to become into launched into the international. Admittedly, that is not a philosophic yet a spiritual evidence, yet; we are speaking approximately God and not chaos. that is not a query of no be counted if God exists yet fairly if he's all effectual like religions say he's, so which you want a theologian and not a reality seeker to respond to this question. As for Einstein, seem to the tip of the Bible, "...even in spite of the indisputable fact that thou be in hell I would be there...." God isn't lacking whilst evil is contemporary. God has hardened the hearts of guy to create evil. Does that make God evil because of the fact he makes use of evil to do his will? in keeping with hazard. or possibly, God will is neither sturdy nor evil. we decide directly to interpret God's will in a single way or yet another. we glance at God as a be certain. possibly we are incorrect in doing that. possibly it is the only way we are in a position to have confidence God, and it is the reason we want a saviour. we want a connection that want not be there. In answer on your question, God created each and every thing. guy observed as somethings evil. guy could be incorrect.
