I have misplaced the ac power adapter for my acer laptop travelmate 2001xc, a universal charger available in the market but want to know what volt&ere? The battery pack is 14.8V & 400mAH, so what equevelent charger i should buy?

Get a 15V charger 400mAH. Usually this is safe. Some chargers have a variable voltage control. If you have the cash, buy the original charger from an Acer service center (or you could look in pc surplus shops)

most laptops are 14.x volts
most are also a lot more than 400 maH

my Averatec is 4400 and my Dell is 4450
both take a 90W supply

even my very old micron is 1900
it takes a 70W supply

according to your manual, yours takes a 60W supply.

that means u probably missed a "1" on the spec

1400maH not 400.

400 might be the INPUT rating of the charger.

they need a voltage about 20v and a current higher than required

so a 20v 1500ma supply will work.

Recheck the power requirements on the label and the battery maH.

just make sure the power plug is the correct polarity.

neither are given in the manual. which is here if u need it.
