Sometimes in a persons life they are trying to hold on to something or someone they fear loosing. So they put themselves to the wayside and try to be what is needed to keep whatever or whoever they are desiring.
I think at some point each of us has gone through one situation or another like that.
But, in the end you find that being something or someone your not is a very unhappy life and then the moving on and growing begins.

Yes, after getting into a relationship with a jealous, possessive man. I walked on eggshells so well, I ended up behaving the way he wanted instead of acting upon my own thoughts and decisions. I felt as if I'd lost my sense of and confidence in my self and was behaving like somebody else.

Sure, you start listening to the music they like, find yourself watching NASCAR let's say for example when you never did before. It seems if you're interested in someone you try to be like them so they will be interested in you.
Not just guy/girl situations either. You can start to be like and act like someone else because you want or need friends and you want to be included.
Human behavior is very interesting.

Sometimes we are different with different people and yet we are still ourselves. Our personalities are a blend of who we basically are, what we have done, who we associate with, and what we hope to achieve....it is ever changing yet staying somewhat the same. Often it is hard to really know ourselves, we can be deceiving or we choose not to see.

yes everybody does that... and it's not really a bad thing... by acting like someone else you may pick up a few good traits... but i wouldn't recomend it all the time (unless you're an actor/actress)
