Nope, the story is an allegory. In fact it is a poor allegory. I say this because in that story, god punishes them for learning. So the protagonist of the bible is against learning and the antagonist is pro-education.

In my opinion, no, they are not.
However, when you think about it: it is impossible to determine the truth. If they did, in fact, exist, that was quite a time ago, obviously. Therefore, we cannot possibly have an accurate description of events--over time, as world travelled across the world, it would have been manipulated.
Presuming that they did, or did not, is inaccurate, because who really knows? No one. You might say that the Bible tells of Adam and Eve, however, the Bible may not be true. Harry Potter books tell of Harry Potter, but does that make them real? Heck no.
My opinion, however, is that Adam and Eve did not exist.

A wellknown person, Jesus, spoke of Adam and Eve as real persons, not a fiction.
Referring to the first human couple in Genesis 1:27 as well as 2:24, he said "Did you not read that he who created them from the beginning made them male and female and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and his mother and will stick to his wife, and the two will be one flesh’?" (Matt 19:4,5)
As the Genesis account tells us, this first pair is the beginning of all humans. This is in agreement with the words in Acts 17:26: “[God] made out of one man every nation of men, to dwell upon the entire surface of the earth.”
Is it unreasonable to believe that all of us descended from the same original parents? Notice these thoughts:
“Science now corroborates what most great religions have long been preaching: Human beings of all races are . . . descended from the same first man.”—Heredity in Humans (Philadelphia and New York, 1972), Amram Scheinfeld, p. 238.
“The Bible story of Adam and Eve, father and mother of the whole human race, told centuries ago the same truth that science has shown today: that all the peoples of the earth are a single family and have a common origin.”—The Races of Mankind (New York, 1978), Ruth Benedict and Gene Weltfish, p. 3.

It's "allegory" in both "covenants": Galatians 4;
And "as in Adam(them: Mr & Mrs Adam) all die".
Mr Adam is allegorically the LORD in Genesis 4:1.
The day(light) of the LORD is darkness and not light.
POINT: God(Grace) is not Law Law.
Grace cannot lie (law) nor die (law).
Law Law notably does both.
The GRACE of our Lord J-->C with you-->all. Amen.

they are the symbolic names of "first man" and "first woman", names are based on the word/letters ATUM and we say Adam, it's Kemetic and is an attempt to explain a hypothesis of the origin of humanity
funny thing is, we cannot prove one but we can make it all up and then get support for it by writing books and swaying minds

Yes they were real!!......Our first human parents, Adam and Eve, made a fateful choice for the rest of the human race when they tried to find a way of life for themselves apart from the intimate relationship God was offering them. We have been groping for meaning ever since.
The awe-inspiring truth is that God is creating a family—the God family. He is the Father of that family. How did Jesus Christ reveal God to His disciples? As "our Father in heaven" (Matthew 6:9). Jesus tells us to follow the ways of God "that you may be sons of your Father in heaven" (Matthew 5:45).
God invites us into a father-child relationship with Himself and gives us His Spirit so we can become His children: ". . . But you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, 'Abba, Father.' The Spirit [itself] bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ . . ." (Romans 8:15-17).
After this life, those to whom God gives His Spirit receive eternal life through a resurrection from the dead. "We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed—in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and
this mortal must put on immortality" (1 Corinthians 15:51-53).
It is through the resurrection to eternal life that God transforms us into glorified and immortal beings, as God Himself is. As 1 John 3:2 tells us, "we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is."
God is in the process of creating His own family. He will give humans eternal life, which we will share with Him for eternity. He desires to share His eternal existence with others in a way of life of love toward others. Because of His love, God brought the universe into existence in the first place. It is because of God's love that He gave us a part in it. Life is the result of God's love and His desire to share His love with His immortal family for eternity.
