I prefer the Novus Ordo, "modern" Mass.

Having said that, I am happy to see the Church preparing to offer the Tridentine for those who prefer the Latin Mass. I am looking forward to seeing a real Tridentine Mass if/when it comes to my parish, but I suspect I will be sticking with the Novus Ordo.

I actually like both the 'modern mass' and the old Latin mass ... and this may surprise you, but I actually took Latin in school so I could 'understand' what the priests were saying ... and I was NOT a 'Catholic' at the time ... I babysat for a Catholic family, though, and had to take the boys to church and to 'catechism' classes, so I felt I 'needed' to know ...

I prefer the Modern mass because I feel I can fully participate. In the old mass the Lay community had no participation other than attending. I think we need to be fully part of and participating giving praise and worship as the people of God.

I prefer modern mass for the message, but overall I prefer the Latin mass. It sounds so much prettier and seems much more uplifting.

Are you suggesting that the Latin mass which is not understood by 99% of the church goers should be prefer to a mass in the native language?

Or do you believe that the modern mass conduct does not offer the solitude for prayer.

The last time I looked, the format of the Catholic mass is is not determined by popular voice, so any preference is pointless.

The rhythm and familiarity of the Latin mass was comforting.
Though of course most had no idea what was being said.
I hind site I think the vernacular mass is the best way forward.
