Does anyone know a good resource for projecting what a local environment will look like in 10 or 20 years? Energy costs, Water taste, food, living arrangements...
This information may jumpstart some non-carers if they see how it will infringe on their lifestyle.

Most likely you will see buildings almost everywhere, the water will taste a bit odd from being "purified" so much more. Many people will probably be using larger versions of smart cars, and fly in triple decker airbuses that have power sockets, TVs, and Wi-Fi on the back of every seat as normal flights. The energy cost will be insubmountibly high since we will have used so much unrenewable energy sources, namely fossil fuels including coal, and gasoline. Houses will probably be kind of shiny and have UV protection windows etc with solar panels. Also, the Earth's ozone layer will be practically gone in one area, and everyone from there will move on to pollute some other place. The most common way of traveling will probably be to walk since the costs of everything else (food, housing costs, insurance, etc.) will be immense. Even the wealthier working classes will have trouble keeping such a high status.

There may be resources to do that, but 20 years ago those resources predicted all kinds of things wrong and pretty much nothing right. So I don't bother even looking at such things any more.
