Nasty when i was like 17-18 (tens years ago) i got one and that was it. Don't to that its gross

It allows for longer contact that just a kiss. And there's certain amount of territorial behaviour involved. When you see someone with a hickie you know they're involved with someone, so it's a visual warning to others to back off.

well i noticed my partner of 5 years always gives or trys to give me a hickie when i go somewhere or if he does so i came to the conclution of "to mark the territory" which is totally stupid to me
he only done it for the 1st year or so

2 guys i have dated dont like receiving any hickies, one i gave 3 small ones to and then after i gave them to him he told me he doesnt like them he shouldve told me before.. I like them anywhere, but mostly where they wont be seen..
