Well, honestly, I don't think you understand metaphysics, and trying to use it in this context is sort of inappropriate.
Generally, the more you explain the better quality your answers will be. At least, if I'm answering them.

The whole point of metaphysics was to explain the workings of the universe. Unfortunately, metaphysics was based on philosophy, not science. This means none of the explanations need have anything to do with objective (physical) reality. Before the scientific revolution began (about 1590) all of Western civilization was Solipsistic. This means they imagined their subjective experience formed the basis of reality. The validity of metaphysical philosophical arguments was judged by the authority and reputation of the person stating his opinion. Physical explanations were soundly rejected because solipsists believed the physical realm is merely an illusion created by their minds.

Everything changed after the scientific revolution. Physics has proved that the physical realm is actually real. The brain is known to be responsible for conscious awareness and is entirely self-contained. Science requires a physical explanation for why things happen and unsubstantiated philosophical opinions are now considered worse than useless. Metaphysics is as meaningless as astrology, or alchemy, or numerology, or religion. I strongly suggest you study science -- which has the enormous advantage of being firmly based upon reality.

Views on Happiness

The mystical religions (the Big Three) place happiness outside of this world - in the After Life. If you practice this "truth" all knowledge and all answers in this life are utterly futile. You don't go to Paradise because you know anything, or you have learned anything. You can be as ignorant as you wish. As long as you do what God says, you'll gain happiness after you die.

The so-called metaphysical religions, Buddhism, Hinduism, Taoism, etc. place happiness in the surprise of the moment and the ultimate happiness in some form of indefinable universal consciousness sometimes referred to as the Absolute Nothingness. In these philosophies, you can't make any effort to look for happiness, because happiness is the equivalent of a surprise. A pleasant surprise comes without wishing it, without expecting it, without earning it. It simply happens. So, all you can do in this life is sit tight, maybe under a tree, and wait. It may come. It may never come. One thing is for sure: the more you think and hope for pleasure, the less likely a pleasant surprise is to happen. So, the metaphysical precept is to "empty" your mind completely of all thoughts and act like a zombie. Good luck!

The rational view on happiness is to treat it like any other emotion. Emotions are natural responses to evaluations. They are there to help us survive. If you did not have the emotion of fear when a truck is about to run over you, you would not move out of its way. Desire is the natural response to one's condition in life. If you did not have the desire to free yourself from bondage, or an abuser, you would condone yours and other people's slavery, violence, and injustice. Happiness is the correct emotion you feel when you have overcome an obstacle in your life, when you have achieved something you created or produced. Unexpected rewards are nice and produce happiness, too, but they are not the rule of life. Your happiness is usually the fruit of success for your efforts. Like all emotions, happiness is not a state of being. One is not permanently fearful, permanently hopeful, permanently happy. Such permanent states of emotion are neither real nor desirable states that a sane, rational person should wish to obtain. All religions and mystical philosophies are fundamentally escapes from reality. They, erroneously and necessarily, portray happiness as a permanent state of being conveniently AFTER life.

If you're referring to questions such as "what is the sound of one hand clapping?" (a Zen koan), then it is not about explaining or not explaining. Such questions are simply designed to let you experience the lunacy of asking such stuff. Most Metaphysical questions stem from illusory thinking.

Rather, focus on not needing answers. That I think is the best explanation for searching for answers. If you need them, they remain elusive. If you don't need them, things become much clearer. What would it be like not to be hot and thirsty, yet have an abundant supply of water?

How's that for another koan?

Not unless you think metaphysics is filled with irrationality, otherwise it would not be logical to try and draw no conclusions from a rational environment.

When you are happy that there is no answer. then you just need to stop asking the question. Just sit, just be. words or ideas are not able to express the answer. But neither is the answer hidden!
Be well

Begin (after you stop thinking so much) by recognizing that your answers lie within; then go within and find them. Keep doing this, never stop. You will find.

I'm trying to not explain anything so I can't answer your question. Does that answer your question?
