Finally, something you posted that I agree with. Much of the angst we have in life is in not accepting the reality of it.

I had the same problem when I was younger - I was often jealous of how others lived their lives - enjoyment to the max and having everything in life until I realized that these are just temporary things one can enjoy in a moment of time. That these are material things that don't last a lifetime. I also realized that it isn't nice to be jealous of others who are blessed and fortunate to be rich, who can afford luxuries and things that we cannot afford for ourselves. We can only accept that this is how we are and in accepting the fact, we are somehow released from this feeling of envy. We can always enjoy the other things that we can afford, we need not compete with the affluent. For us simpletons, we have our own moments of enjoyment, our own kind of fun - maybe not comparable to the rich, but, we can afford it and that counts a lot, specially on our pockets.

Grasping at delusion is the root of all suffering, so understanding the difference between conventional reality or life and ultimate reality or life is essential if we are to escape samsara. Once we have a clear understanding (acceptance), we can put love and life into their proper place in every mindful moment, and thus engage in an ethical life that contributes to the liberation of all beings from their suffering.

Metta, mudita, namaste my friend.

Yes indeed! Accept the *** beating with the joy in which we accept the blessing because maybe we needed the *** beating as our blessing? I know I do (figuratively of course) to get the meanness out of me once in a while...and also, find the beauty in the ugliness...because all is the same isn't it?

I am of the opinion that we do have to accept All that is, and in so doing, we learn to love All there is.

Perhaps we do.

I don't know if I can do that wholeheartedly. For me, it is better to just take one day at a time.

No. Those who tolerate and accept everything or everybody value nothing. How can they?
