This may sound stupid to some, but no matter what I do I smell. I shower twice daily, use antibacterial soap, and have tried every known antiperspirant/deodorant known to man. I smell only in my underarms. 15 minutes out of the shower, it smells like I haven't showered in days. I went to the doctor and he just laughed at me and said he did not smell anything. The entire time I was in the waiting room, people were sniffling and coughing. I had blood tests done and everything was normal. This has been going on for 3 years. I can't go out any more. I avoid social situations in general. I start school tomorrow and I don't think I can endure the day with everyone sniffling, coughing, and looking at me. My parents know I have a problem, but they are like I should just deal with it, but I can't. I don't think I will live to see my 20th birthday. I have tried natural remedies too, such as charcoal, chlorphyll, and baking soda, but nothing works. I have given up on life.

Are you sure you smell? It sounds to me that you have a very active imagination.

If you are over 18 I would consider going to see a dermatologist by yourself, without parents. You can find a good one by looking online or asking friends and family. I am pretty sure the odor is from sweat, and if so the derm. can give you shots to stop you from sweating. If it is not sweat, then definitely as your derm. to get to the bottom of the problem and I'm sure there is some medical potion out there that will help you out.
As for now, I know its hard but just try not to worry about it. I remember when I had terrible acne, I mean TERRIBLE and everyone constantly stared at me like I was a freak. It was horrible but after three years of it my face settled on it's own and I'm glad I did not overreact in that situation because there is way too much to live for out there.

Killing yourself over this would be tragic. I understand how this is really upsetting, but there are solutions.
I heard years ago about someone with the same problem. You need to keep searching, have you tried on the internet?
Have you tried the following; changing your diet and limiting certain foods, exercising to sweat and "flush" out the impurities, make sure underarm hair is shaved daily, wear sweat pads?
This doctor sounds like a piece of work. I suggest you seek out a professional that specialized in things having to do with the glandular system. I wish I could remember who the doctor was in the piece on TV years ago who helped someone, but I am sure if you google body odor or something similar you can come up with something.
Take care, we all have problems in life, this is not something to kill yourself over. Ask God for His help. I will pray for you.

Hey friend, I don't think it's wise to kill yourself just because of a smell. Lots of people are worse off. The doctor told me I'm nearly blind, and I have to wear glasses now. Other people are totally blind, or deaf, or paralyzed. Don't give up on life because of smell!
Listen, even if this doesn't work, don't worry. Clean your underarms with lemon juice. I don't know how often each day, but not too often. But even if that doesn't work, live on! Everybody smelled badly before deodorant. You're human, so just don't worry about it. They stink too; they just lie about it with deodorant. Smell is no reason to put an end to yourself!

First of all, why tell us? Find help for yourself in your local community. Also, have you tried Zinc? That helps my son-in-law. His sweat smells like a tom-cat has peed on him. But he doesn't obsesses over what people are thinking about his smell. He goes on with his life.
I too wanted to comitt suicide, and tried three times. If I had really wanted to kill myself, I would of made sure it was going to happen, otherwise it is a cry for help, as yours is!!!!! YOU are allowing this to control you; making you want to "sit on the pity pot." I am sorry to be so blunt, but you need help with your emotions as well as your smell! But I know Zinc works if you take it every day. You stated "the entire time I was in the waiting room...." since when did you have the ability to read minds? People who sniff and cough have other reasons to be doing so besides your smell.

Try a product which is not an antiperspirant. Antiperspirants prevent sweat from coming out of the pores and this may cause an accumulation of bacteria in the underarms. Why don't you try not applying anything to your underarms. Try it for a few days.

try using straight up rubbing alcohol on your armpits. You can do this a couple times a day. Just get a spray bottle and spray your armpits with the alcohol. I'm sure you really don't smell especially when you shower a couple times a day. Don't worry about it. It's perfectly natural to sweat under your armpits. It's a way that your body is getting rid of wastes. If you didn't sweat, then you should worry.

Right, I have heard of this before. I can't remember exactly what it's called but it's where people think that they are omitting an odore when they are not. You are ill and need to see a psychiatrist. That doctor that laughed at you should be struck off. He/she should have known better.
To you this real and therefore it is real. I will try to look it up and edit this responses so that you can see for yourself. Perhaps someone else will post what it is called but please get help.

This is either a psychological problem or a physical problem. Get a second opinion. Go to an endocrinologist, if all tests are normal, you may need to see a psychologist. (I'm just saying?) You may be able to take a vitamin or medication to clear up this stinky problem. Hope you find the answer.

Your problem reminds me of a kid who told his mother: "Mommy, I saw a dead cockroach inside Dad's shoes!" The mother replied, "Son, that's good, we no longer have to buy pesticide. Yesterday, I also found a dead rat in your father's shoes." Well, levity aside, the meaning of life is not defined by smell. Smell is relative. What is odourous for some may be aromatic for others. One time I was in the U.S.A in a fellow asian's house where there was a white american boarder, I fried a dried fish and the white american was fuming mad because of the smell. I told him that for me the smell of the dried fish was not offensive. What matters in this life is the internal disposition of the person. Some people may have perfume-like smells but have rotten attitudes; while, others have offensive smells physically but have compassionate hearts and upright lifestyles...which one you choose?
