Catholics don't worship a statue. The statue is just a reminder of the person ,it helps us relate. People do the same thing with pictures of their family. No statue is ever worshiped. The statue is just an image of a person.
We pray to the Virgin Mary because she is a person who set a good example on how to live your life.

I know that they pray to the Virgin Mary, as an intercessor so that she can ask Jesus to ask the Father. My Grandparents were Catholic, My Mother refused to become Catholic and refused to raise my brothers and myself Catholic. This kneeling before statues plus praying to Saints caused many arguments in the family. I don't think they worship the statues, I do think they worship The Virgin Mary, however not above the Father God. We are taught to Pray to the Father and end it in Jesus name.
I am sorry that you are an Atheist. But proud of you for wanting to learn.

I'm an atheist, but....if a religious person wants to pray to the Virgin Mary, where's the harm? If they want to pray to saints, what does it matter? If, I'm saying if, the Virgin Mary was real? Wouldn't she be just as important than Jesus?

That doesnt blame Christianity at all. It is just rituals of that church. They say they are not worthy to pray to the Lord Jesus , so they should pray to the Virgin Mary and She will pray to Him in return.
About the idols and graves and so , its all rituals of a church.
God bless!

I am Catholic but I do understand what you believe and I do respect your questions and would like to answer them as best as I could.
We pray to JESUS through VIRGIN MARY, that is why we say "Pray for us holy mother of JESUS" or holy mother of GOD"
About images? we do not worship them, but we venerate them which meants grate respect and honor. For they were the working of the HOLY SPIRIT in the flesh, through man.
And images help us remember things and events which help us to have deeper understanding of the work of GOD.
A crucified man on a cros, bloodies, severely woulded helps us remember how JESUS offered HIMSELF for us
BORM GAIN and protestant are prohibited from making images but catheolics are not.
For sure you will say that we violate the the will of GOD for making images, tell me then why did GOD ask MOSES to make image of a snake and commanded people to look at the graven image and they will be saved from the snakes bites during their time. and tell me why did GOD ask them to make stone images of angels to guard the tabernacle and also to put graven images on the altar.
There is a deeper thing about images not as shallow as others look at them.
But if a group of believer do understand that these are prohibited then they who believe should follow what they think is right.
Please email me and I am willing to answer your question, I know you have more to ask.
GOD BLESS US ALL CHRISTIANS, MUSLIMS HINDUS, MUSLIMS and all creations.

The problem with religion is everybody thinks they're right. Look at scientific facts if you need to. I have no faith in anything man does unless there is scientific fact backing it up. So to answer your question if you're a christian then yes, Christ is the Savior

I am not catholic so I do not understand these questions and many more. I do know that Christ is the savior. The name Jesus in Hebrew actually means "Jehovah Savior" =God Savior. There are literally about 100 scriptures that I can give you on his deity. I will give you one. 1Timothy 3:16.

I cannot speak for the Catholics for I do not understand their ways either. I can speak for myself. When I wear a cross, it is only for one reason, that is to show I believe in Jesus and what he taught. Not necessarily that he had to die to save me. Just simply to say that I acknowledge Jesus and what he taught in order for me to live more God-like as he did.
Blessed Be
