- accused leaders of being of their father the devil
- threatenned eternal damnation for some sinful ways
- belittled people who did not make bigger profits with their money, even if they kept what they had, not taking much risk with it
- did not hold a job other than to preach to others
- told people to bring to him his enemies and kill them at his feet(getting others to do his dirty work as he wanted to remain non violent physically)
- convinced people that he was worthy of being crucified by preaching that everything was wrong and being vague about how to change things by telling stories that sometimes did not make any sense, but that would be repeated for hundreds of years to come
- any more?
Mind you, there are likeable traits this guy had, some involving moments of healing, so he is not a complete lost cause! I too look forward to making his and your acquaintance and friendship in heaven, cause I firmly believe we are all doing our best on earth

My father in law paid my son's fines over and over!
You know where he is now? My son is in jail because he never learned how to stand on his own two feet. His granddad passed away 10 years ago and my son's fines did not get paid after that and he got into drugs and reckless behavior and spent a year in jail and is now back in for violating probation, doing cocaine. So tell me more about this guy that just paid my fine! lol That is a joke!
If Jesus died, supposedly for my sins, it was because he pissed off local authorities that had had enough of his bull, and they decided that he needed to be crucified with the rest of the trash at that time. Now I respect Jesus as a human being for having done some nice things, but dying on the cross to save me,...well that is like me saying that we each die for each other's differences anyway. Of course he died for sins, cause sin is what kills us all. Without difference though, there would be no life!

I guess it all depends on what you call God!
I am a Forgive Affirmed Spirit and Forgive Affirmed Spirit is my God. We have a set of beliefs and it includes beliefs about Jesus. Jesus means something to us and so do you. Jesus is part of God and so are you and I. Noone is IT in and of themselves. That would be a mockery of God!
Consider that God is everywhere and knows everything or else something else is in control. Consider that you are a part of everything and everywhere and as such you are a part of God. Jesus asks the Pharasees, after being accused of blasphemy for judging their ways as erred, justifying his authority and man's authority to judge other men, Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?
This "gods" or decapitalized God is a representation of many....infinite smaller part of a whole of God, a collective God!, of which we are each a part!

Truly, if we are to be like this Jesus in his finest moments, we are to question and to seek and to ask and to find. This is our mission....and to do it in Forgive Affirmed Spirit is to functionally do this and to help our world civilize in this WAY.
Jesus told his followers in John 14 12, that there would be greater works than the works he did done, if the people who came after him could see how in heaven Jesus was different, how in heaven our enemies are love, not hate, not ravelrousers, but compassionate communicators for the good of mankind! Jesus recognized that he was different in heaven than he was on earth and that if we could see that and follow the better ways of heavenly guidance we could make a heaven on earth eventually or at least approach that!

It takes tact, it takes methodology to become improved at something, not doing the same thing, making the same mistakes over and over again! We should know now how those mistakes affect our lives. The killing goes on, the poor judgments etc. What changed since Jesus left? Well there have been great works, healing works that came from people who died and gave their lives for those causes to make life better! They died for your sins too!
As for the suffering? I have watched people suffer, my own relatives, dying, who gave their whole lives for the comfort and love of others, and some of them died long and painful deaths. Not for 3 days, but for years of suffering before they died! We all die. We all suffer. We all give all we have! We all do our predestined best every moment of our lives! We made each other to do that! If there is misunderstanding, we put it there when we, as co creators of the universe put this here for our entertainment and load!

Maur911, why trust spiritual terrorism? I am sure there are rapists and murderers and robbers that can be trusted sometimes too, but to blindly trust someone who is like Jesus for everything? Isn't that being a little lunatical?

Perhaps Frikkie, this one does not need wising up by the likes of you! But please do try, unless you are unworthy! Perhaps you are not even worthy to say you love Jesus?

Jesus dies and goes up to Heaven. The first thing he does is look for his father, as he has never met the man before and is curious as to what he looks like, and whether or not Jesus looks like his mother or father, etc. He looks high and low but cannot find him.
He asks St. Peter "Where is my father?" But St. Peter says he doesn't know.
He asks the archangel Gabriel "Where is my father?" But Gabriel doesn't know.
He asks John the Baptist "Where is my father?" But John does not know. So he wanders Heaven, impatiently searching.
Suddenly he sees out of the mist an old man coming toward him. The man is very old, with white hair, stooped over a little. "Stop!" Jesus yells. "Who are you?"
"Oh, please help me, I am an old man in search of my son." Jesus is very curious. Could this be his father? "Tell me of your son, old man."
"Oh, you would know him if you saw him. Holes in his hand where the nails used to be, he was nailed to a cross, you know..."
"Father!!!!!" Screams Jesus.
"Pinocchio!!!!!!!" yells the old man.

If someone walked up to your door and said "I just paid your fine." what would you say?
You would be confused and maybe put off. First, you didn't know you owed a fine, and second you would be offended that someone would think you needed their pitiful amount of misguided charity.
But if that same person knocked at your door and said "I was just down at the courthouse. All your property was being condemned and you about to be arrested and thrown in jail until recompense was made to the accusers.
"I saw what you had done, perhaps without you knowing you had done it, and the damage was terrible. You deserved the penalty imposed for the damage you did to the accuser.
"Nevertheless, I was in a position to pay your debt, and because I knew you could never pay the fine imposed, I paid it in full. Just go to the judge and tell him you accept my payment of your fine and you are free."
Now, this second approach would make more sense. First he let you know you were in trouble and were guilty with no chance of escaping judgement. Then he let you know he had paid your fine andf you were free to accept the unwarranted gift.

Wow that's quite a spin you've put on things. You're understanding is so simplistic and really juvenile that it's hardly worth wasting time on. You sound sort of like a 1st grader trying to evaluate a doctoral dissertation. Keep looking though, it might be that God has chosen this path for you as a way to find Him.

given consideration to the fact that we use on a tenth of our potential brain power, and giving consideration to the state of affairs in the world our best is obviously not good enough.
Thus we have a need for a Savior.
