I have just moved to Brisbane and haven't been out much. I really want to go out and meet new friends and possibly see someone romantically. Where should I go, what should I do? I live with my sister and her boyfriend but she doesn't want to go out much! That leaves me stuck at home by myself.....I'm so bored!!

Put on your best impression clothes, and your prettiest smile, and go mingle! A local coffee shop, the mall, a park, anywhere! Yes, alone! It shows your a strong independent woman with self-confidence. Very attractive quality to men! And women, if not jelous and shallow minded will want to be friends with you, for you are bold and unique. Don't be shy darlin'. Be you. Get out there. Good luck

There are a number of safe places you can go for a start. Try the public library, the museums, and restaurants during the daytime. Do you belong to a religious group? Go there for services and social activities. The worst thing you can do is go to a bar or nightclub. You can also try a bookstore where people enjoy discussing reading and literature. Your local university may have some courses or activities open to the public. Look around you, there must be specialty shops, coffee houses, and other places where people can meet in groups or go alone. Good luck.

Check out the local neighbourhood center, for evening classes in hobbies, crafts or a news events group, or a book club, it's a start towards meeting some new people, and you might make some nice friends. There is always a need for volunteers, helping out at the rspca or meals on wheels etc.

be patient... and start exploring the city on your own...have a map if you do not know the area, don't go to far.. and have a look around.. sit at a cafe and say hello to people...

start a new job, or find clubs, or other group activities that you can join to meet people..
