What do you feel about a 80 yr old father or mother still working?

Is it good or bad? Pitiful or good for longevity?

They're healthy, have their own friends, and independent.

I think this is a good thing as long they do not work for money but for interest.

There's a man who's in his 70's at the sawmill I work at still working. He can climb a 100 foot ladder like it's nothing and doesn't even think about it. I see alot of young guys doing the same work he does acting like it's dragging them down. He says he'll work till he can't work anymore cause if he stops working he'll probably just atrophy and die anyways. His wife is alot younger than him. He was burned alive as a young man and lived in a hospital till his skin grew back. I wonder if that has something to do with his drive.

Every see what happens to a personal fitness freek that just stops ....... There are lots of folks who feel that a job, hobby or the like is great to keep the mind sharp & current. As long as the person has the ability and the will ...... it will keep them alive alot longer than sitting in a chair watching soaps on the boob tube.

I reckon it cool they are still working at there age, look at some of the younger generations they dnt even work and they are young.. Shame old ppl puting young ppl to shame..

I think it's great if their doing it because they want to. If not i think it's kind of sad.
