Four things!!
1, Red is live! yep you pull trigger gun goes BANG!
2, Alex B quite right always treat firearms as though they are loaded.
3,Depends where you are in the world and cal. of gun but in the UK hand guns are illegal.
4,It sounds like you don't know what your doing with it so either join a gun club and get taught by someone that does or hand in to the police before you hurt yourself or someone else!!

Uh, red safety off, green or white safety on. To be sure read your owners manual.

It depends on the weapon...
some pistols have a ''loaded chamber'' indicator; they might be red in color indicating that the pistol has a round in the chamber-
Otherwise it's a sign that the safety is OFF- the weapon is
Ready to Fire.

point at left foot and pull trigger. if you get searing pain within 10 seconds you know that it means safety off ha ha

normally red means danger so safety will be off

it dont matter. always treat it as if loaded and never rely on the safety

...Dear heavenly Father, I pray that you help your son, Jesus, understand that firearms could be dangerous, and without proper instruction and handling, can be deadly. Dear Lord, please help him see that the red "light" is not a good thing, and indicates that the weapon is not in a "safe" condition before he hurts himself, or an innocent bystander or hunter...
