I know I am pregnant, married to a military man, but way before this, and before 9-11, I have had these similar dreams, and its just weird and crazy to me. They always include my mother, my nephew, and my brother I am closest too. Sometimes my husband will be in them fighting, and my mom's bf will be in them. But its starts out with planes flying around like crazy, bombs going off, and I look out the front door of my old house, and see planes shooting at eachother, and shooting at cilivans on the ground, and Ihave to do everything I can to get away from it, and find asafe shelter. Either I will drive with my mom, my brother, and nephew to seek shelter or hid in the basement, but in the mean time when everyone is hiding I will go see whats going on, and its like more and more planes coming down, and then their are helicopters now, and people coming off them from ladders, and I would see them trying to bomb my house, and what not..

then its like my house will then get blown up, but everyone is okay, and then suddenly I awake from the dream, but saddens me, because I never knew where my husband was. These dreams happen the same way, but then a tornado is in the process, and I have to do everything I can to get my mom, nephew, and brother away from it. Its just weird to me, that I have always had these dreams.. and its strange that they havent yet went away. i dont know what has casued them in the past, nor what is still making them come out like this.. Anyone tell me whats it mean. because I know that my husband isnt going to be getting deployed, and 9-11 didnt have a effect on my dreams because it happened before them... its just bugging me badly!

When I was pregnant I was always anxious and worried about things. It sounds to me as if you are concerned about your pregnancy and your husband being in the military. You want to be sure that both are safe and unharmed. The planes and bombs going off are both things that would be military related. The shelter represents the security that you need in your life, (Husband, Mom, Brother, Nephew, Baby, etc.) and your need to feel protected and protect them. Try not to worry so much and enjoy your pregnancy. Good luck and hope you have a healthy, happy, baby.

Your dreams are not abnormal. Dreams reflect tensions, discontent, fears, hopes, anxieties. Often in dreams airplanes represent ideas, or complexes of ideas. Being married to a military man I would guess the airplanes and conflict in your dream represent the warrior outlook. It is a fearful thing (I am an ex-Marine with combat experience) and so trying to escape is normal. Houses in dreams, particularly if they're your house, or the house of your parents, often may represent one's cosmology, one's "take" on life. The basement is likely the unconscious, the attic, one's mental or spiritual outlook, and the ground floors ones every-day life. The helicopters/planes trying to bomb your house may represent the threat that war, or your husband's military service poses to you, your hopes, dreams.

In life there are many problems.Dreaming is one way that your brain deals with these problems.A dream is a way of your mental defense mechanisims keeping you from going insane. You dream to let go of these problems. You feel protective of your family and your dreams could reflect those feelings . you are also pregnant and that bring up a whole new set of protective issues. You want to save the ones you love and just because the symbols in your dreams don't make sense you have to look at the basic raw emotion that you feel.

All dreams are normal. Now,don't confuse dreams with "Flashbacks"I (like most combat Vets ) have PTSD,and we flash back to events that happened.I flash back to my friend getting killed in Nam.He was shot while in the same boat that I was in.He was conscious while we loaded him in the chopper. The last words that he said was"Jim,I am dying",and he died in route to the hospital in Danang.I re live that time almost every night.I don't dream,I have flashbacks.I wish I could dream.

Your dreams demonstrate you desire to protect your loved ones known all your life like mom and brother. It almost reminds me of an vision of the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah being destroyed by God's wrath. You are like Abraham warning Lot and his relatives to leave.
