in new york? where should i stay? some where not expensive yet close to the stadium. im flying from california so i dont know anything!!!

Fuggedabout Jersey.
LGA will be your closest airport by far .It's about 10 miles or less to the Stadium and you can easily and quickly get there by bus& subway.The real question becomes what's your time frame on all of this?
If it's get into LGA , get a room, do the game & fly out the next day then use one of the hotels across the street from LGA that have adressess like 100 something Ditmars Blvd or Astoria Blvd East Elmurst NY on them . There's a court yard by marriot over there for sure.
If you're going to stay for a couple of days
then head into manhattan and have some fun in the greatest city on Earth
Since I'm a native I've never had to stay in a NYC hotel so I'm can't recommend any.

La Guardia closet to Stadium but newark Kennedy close enough get best rate. DON'T STAY NEAR STADIUM neighborhodd is scary

La Guardia is the closest, however there is limited ways of getting from LGA to anyplace in NYC. Just buses and taxis. Your better off flying into Newark or JFK. From either place you can easily get to decent hotels, and many hotels have shuttle service to public transportation.
