Both have equally abrasive qualities. Salt will draw some of the moisture to the surface making it the number one pick of the two. Be light though. You don't want to take the fine top layer off your skin to include the some of the tanning effects of the sun. Just enough to remove dead skin and nothing more.

I've personally never heard of anyone using salt in a body scrub, it will dry out your skin! Sugar is more rough so it actually exfoliates your skin, plus it smells great! Store-bought body scrubs use sugar.

salt!!! sugar can get into ur skin and u can break out!! and why would u want to scrub urself with either?

Oatmeal? Rice? Any of them! Sea salt with oil is the normal one though!
