Do some research on the Olympics, such as the US' decision to stay out of the Olympics held in the former Soviet Union, due to the USSR's invasion of Afghanistan (small world, isn't it?); and the USSR's decision to boycott the 1984 Olympics held in L.A., CA.

Also, you can consider researching the 1936 Olympics in Nazi Berlin; or the 1972 Olympics in Munich, in which several members of the Israeli team were butchered by Palestinian terrorists.

Good luck!

When Rush Limbaugh or Dennis Miller get hired as commentators for Monday Night Football,
When Al Campanera, David Bell, Marge Schott and others make overtly racist remarks to sports reporters,
When NASCAR becomes a bully pulpit for the Christian Right,
When steroids continue to be a dominant issue in an ever-growing number of sports,
it makes it kinda hard to keep politics out of sports, doesn't it?

Politics must not mix with sports because these are two different aspects of the society that cannot be joined.
