Hi, I have a 6 year boy he lives with his mom to whon I pay U$ 330 child support a month, I am looking to marry someone to get more benefits, I am mostly interested in education benefits since I studied architecture but could not finish due to my son's birth and care. I am 30 years old and looking to become an officer if possible but mostly would like to have a great experience with the NAVY and somehow make my son proud.

okay first off, Officers require that 4 year Degree, and frankly, you are too old for most Designators. Line is right out( SWO, Nuke, Aviation). Restricted Line you are almost too old for(32 is the cut off), and Admin(Supply, PAO) is very tight. the path to LDO and Warrant is long.. you must be an E6 or E7 before you can even apply, and that can take 10-15 years easily, depending on rating.

the only benefit you get for marrying someone is BAH at the With Dependent rate/base Housing privileges. there is also family Separation allowance, but that is only given when you are away from home station more than 30 days. your dependnets are eligible for TRICARE and Dental insurance (BTW, your son is eligible, but his mother is not). TRICARE is free, dental has a monthly cost, plus any copays required.

Reservists do get education help, but it is not the same as Active Duty, and you are still subject to activation, so attending college full time may have to be suspended until that activation is complete. as a HM, your chances of being activated after A and C school is VERY high. as a male you ARE going Fleet Marine Force.

Serving your country is a good start to earn that pride. I served 10 years active time and I am now in the guard. I dont know what state you are in but I would check with your National Guard recruiter usually the benefits are better like in WV the national guard pays 100 percent tuition but if your going to stick with the navy reserves a Corpsman is a great chance they are highly educated and as a prior Marine I would serve with any Corpsman any day over any other armed forces medic. But check into the guard you might end up getting a better deal with education

I served 13 of my 25 years in the Navy as a Hospital Corpsman. Had a blast. The fact that your main task is to make people well instead of killing them should make your son proud of you.
