The operation will make him breathe like a newborn babe. The aftermath of the op is painful though. Things to do.
Don't sit around in bed and feel ill. Feel great. Start moving the body around. There will be open flesh scars. They might still bleed, they could become infected. So take care they don't.
But not to be deterred by cuts and stitches. Start with hypericum (200x) immediately. It works like magic. And go fo Arnica tabs immediately. That will begin to quick mend.
Exercises: initially around the house/flat. Graduate to the garden quite soon. Around the block in a week.

WALK, WALK WALK WALK WALK. The more the better.

Diet: Lots of fluids. Green tea, oolong tea, all black teas.
Brown rice is great for digestion. Lay off excess fatty foods. Omega fish oil will be great. Dont get traumatised by doctor's orders on a cholestrol free diet. By and by your bru should study that and get another take on it.
No booze. Red wine is fine. A glass early morning.
Lots of garlic/ginger....natural antibiotics.
If bru carries extra weight, shed it.
Take care. And change his life style.
