Absolutely definitely not. Hunting and dog fighting are two complete different things. Hunting is the killing of wild animals for food and animal population control. Dog fighting is putting two or more helpless dogs against one another to fight nasty to the death. Also people do dogfighting just for fun so they can watch animals die but hunting is for food and population control. And maybe a little fun. But at least the animals die quickly when you are hunting (if you can pull off a head shot).

Hunting is governed by laws in all 50 states. If you see someone performing an illegal act while hunting in my state you are required to notify the Parks and Wildlife Department as soon as possible. All hunters whom I know have ethics. Hunting is not only about the killing or even the meat. Some of us hunt just to be out in the woods. I have several times taken a sight on an animal, waited to see if it even noticed me, and then simply said "bang" instead of pulling the trigger. I would like to invite you to come hunting with me sometime, provided you take and pass the state required hunter safety course. If you would see what it is about from someone who hunts, you might see that we are not what we are portrayed as. Most of my friends who hunt are very intelligent, some are even well educated along with it.

Dog fighting on the other hand is simply a blood sport. The poor dogs are in it only because some owner wants to see animals hurting each other. I am in favor of keeping it illegal.

I know that the P.E.T.A. people don't see it this way but those of us that do actually"hunt" are 4 the most part out there trying to put food on the table, not trying to "kill" just 4 the fun of killing.......I my self love hunting , but hate the "killing" part of the hunt.....4 I know that we are held accountable 4 our "human" actions.......I hunt not only to feed my family but I also feed some of the elder people in my neighborhood that are on fixed incomes and really don't ave anything left after they pay 4 there medicines......So I take them deer, rabbit, pheasant, and fish, to make sure that they all have food and so I know that they are eating .....Hunting is a Good thing if it is done in a humane matter and done with out waste........And from what I see around were I live we all are very efficient and are grateful 4 our bounty.....

Oh here we go.Dog fighting is illegal and hunting is legal so how is that the same? What is wrong with the world today. Why are people so quick to defend a man who admitted he is guilty.I wish that the world would leave this alone and let Vic get what he deservs.
comparing dog fighting to hunting is rediculus
That would be like saying that having sex with a child is the same as having sex with an adult.Could you imagine some child molester saying this trying to defend himself. And then telling the judge he is no better than he is because he has sex with his wife.

You heard wrong. Dog fighting is ILLEGAL; hunting is legal. There is no comparison.

Hunting puts food on the table, manages wildlife, prevents starvation (no pun intended), culls the herds. Dog fighting is just plain stupid as it breeds vicious dogs that are a menace to each other and are a menance in general to society (ever heard what happens when a pit bull gets loose and attacks a child?). Man's best friend was meant for better things than fighting each other for spectacular sport. Rightfully it is outlawed.

Absolutely not because there are many benefits to hunting like controlling the population and providing food to people. Dog fighting is for entertainment purposes only, and is cruel to the animals because they have to live with the condition, and suffer from injuries. Animals that are hunted live in their natural environment (for the most part) and are not caged and bred for the sport.

No. Hunting and dog fighting are 2 totaly different things. a hunter trys to make a clean kill, meaning the animal doesnt suffer for to long.(perfect sense if an animal lay suffering the meat gets tough) All the hunters I know are hunting for the meat not the "kill". In dog fighting these poor animals suffer before during and after a fight. They do not get medical help after a fight. They are made to suffer. If hunting and dog fighting are the same, are you going to eat your dog after it dies in a fight?

No, its not even relativly close. Deer are killed humanly for food and to control population. Dogs are killed for disgusting fun, thats it. You dont eat them (in america at least), and i dont know of any overpopulated house pets! Dogs are tortured and then killed if they lose, so if it was like deer hunting, the loser which can be the hunter often would die, and that isnt right or sane. That comparison is complety retarded.

Hunting is be more closely related to buying a package of sirloin steaks at the supermarket than it is to illegal dog fighting. Forcing animals to fight each other for entertainment is alot different than killing an animal for food.

Well there is no point being guilty about it anyway.

Because all of us use medical and hygiene and household products which have to be extensilvely tested on live animals in laboratories. This kills a lot slower and more painfully than anything else.

Toxicity levels are tested progressively increasing on mucous membranes(eyes, anus, mouth etc) of an animal to make sure the product is safe for us. When the animal is no longer 'viable'(destroyed membranes) for testing the vetinary expert disposes of it.

So you are a sinner anyway you look at it. If you want to hunt, then hunt.
