It depends on how the food is handled and prepared. If gloves are used & employees wash their hands after using the John, you're doing pretty good.
Then it depends on how much EXERCISE you get or if you "sit" all day & are a couch potao all evening and on weekends!!! Bread is fattening, so limit it to one average slice per day or every other day !!! Better to have veggie soup & about 20 little "oyster" crackers (or plain soup even better). When eating salad, order Fat Free dressing "on the side". Dip your fork into the dressing & then into the salad for a mouthsize bite of salad! You'll use 1/2 the dressing or less this way & still get the taste.
It's better to buy Pepperidge Farm Low Carb (5gm) bread (7 grain) and buy a pre-cooked turkey breast ( not processed turkey, but real turkey breast) in the meat dept. and have it "shaved" at your grocers deli for lunch meat. Then use your home scale to weigh out 1 serving of meat for your sandwiches, use FF mayo or low-fat mayo, lettuce & tomato and put in ziplock baggie. Then take 1 serving of veggie soup in your thermos. It'll be a filling & healthy lunch !!! And use those stairs -- always & park as far from your office building as possible in order to get that exercise !!! Use a treadmill at 3mph to 3.5mph for 30min each day -- except Sunday (or Saturday). And drink: 1/2C pomegranite juice per day it kills breast Cancer cells (& for your mate -- it kills prostate cancer cells)!!! Also drink 1/2C 100% cranberry juice per day and also as much green tea as you wish!!! Also, broccoli sprouts (1 serving) has more antioxidents than 4C of regular broccoli, but if you cant hack 'em then reg. broccoli will suffice !!! BEST WISHES, Aunt Barbie xox

Not all of them are. There is no way to tell you how many calories are in that given you didn't mention the size and where you bought it. People ask way too many vague questions on here that really don't have solid answers. They also never post enough information. Are you just asking if it's healthy or are you asking if it's healthy meaning will I lose weight while eating this? Depending on the bread you had with it and how dense it was, it's not an unhealthy sandwich at all. Now whether or not it's a good food choice when you are trying to diet is a secondary conversation. -Connor

Deli sandwiches are not necessarily healthy, but you can customize your sandwich to make it more healthy.

First off, skip the mayonnaise or tell them light mayonnaise. Mayonnaise has tons of fat and therefore, tons of calories. The same goes for cheese.

Try to get whole wheat bread if they have it.

Choose lean meats like turkey, chicken or tuna fish. Ham is often processed and roast beef has more saturated fat than the others.

Get lots of veggies - lettuce, tomatoes, onions, etc. These are all great to add on a sandwich. They're filling but low in calories.

And lastly, since deli sandwiches tend to be pretty big, eat as much as it takes to make you full. You can save the rest for later. Or, tell them to cut it in half to help with portion control. Skip the chips or potato salad and you should have a pretty healthy lunch.

Not many are healthy. Have a salad.
