That makes some sense, actually. Without God, why would you restrict things that would be natural? There's no reason to restrict anything if God does not exist.

Yes, God created man. But God also gave man and woman a sex drive. He then gave man a women to.... anyone.... listen to her gripe, complain, and nag him all day? NO! He gave him women for among other reasons to populate the earth, have companionship, love, etc. I think the real question here is why did God give man/woman a sex drive and then impose restrictions on it? It's a natural thing, people. And for many people, meaningless sex can bring two people closer together more often than not.

Funny how love can flourish from meaningless sex.
Logically speaking, I really don't think God cares what you do in your bedroom, as long as it's not hurting anyone.

Some people like to control other people.
Did this god make the parking laws or the tax laws?

God created us with desires but I think it was the fall that made them lustful? Right? Our sinful nature makes us look and desire.

it's the lust of the eyes, the boastful pride of life and the lust of the flesh that 1 John talks about.

oh to be delivered from this body and it's lusts!

The people that made up God, were the people in charge. (politicians of their time) They wanted to control everyone, and what better way of controlling people than threatening them with Hell? The ones that made up God knew there wasn't a God, therefore did not have to follow their own rules. They did not care about future generations, only about themselves (Like George W).

Gee i don't know maybe it would have something to do with collecting taxes and fees for marriages or just the fact that it allows those in power to help influence who marries who, strictly for political purposes of course.
