My father committed suicide. I learned of his death two years after he did it. He was never around. I am 27, and I was probably 12 the last time I saw him. He was schizophrenic, had diabetes, was going blind, and in a bad marriage. Even though he was not involved in my life, I still broke down and cried when I learned he died. I had hopes of reconnecting with him, but I never knew where he was.

It was not clear at first, but the family never talked about it--not even the great memories. A few friends went to county records to see the d.certificate for possible answers. Thats where we noticed that the deceased was 'highly intoxicated' with vicotin, Paxil, and something else. What was most shocking were the words "possible suicide". We all do not know what he was going thru; he kept to himself, although we saw him as a very happy and joyful person.
This is the only person I have known personally who decided to take a permanent solution to a temporary problem. I must agree that people take such a route because they have not found God.
Hope this helps. Remember: life will present you with problems. We grow, evolve and change and improve. Never throw in the towel before you time.

Yes. My father was an alcoholic, and the alcoholism wrecked his health. He could no longer hold down a job, or do much of anything else. He just didn't seem to have the will to live anymore. He killed himself one day while I was at school, and I came home and found him dead. His death left me orphaned.
My grandmother was being horribly abused, and couldn't take any more.
I don't know why my uncle did it. It hurt me terribly. Nobody seemed to know why. It was a mystery to us all.
My friend at school was gay, and a lot of people didn't understand. He had many other problems, as well, but that was one factor in it.
This other guy I know did it because his girlfriend cheated on him. I think if he hadn't been on drugs and had sobered up, waited a bit and thought things over, he wouldn't have done it.

Yes I do. She was trying to recover from homosexuality to Christianity, and the pressure of so much change too quickly proved to be too much. I tried to tell her that God loved her as she was, and that she should slowly change and not try to change herself completely all at once.
But the Bible says that suicide DOES NOT send you to hell.
I cite the story of Saul in the old testament, who committed suicide but was prophesied to be in Abrahams bosom with the prophet Samuel.

I read a bunch of replies, then scrolled ahead and kept going and going. How sad. I always find myself wondering if it was a suicide or not when I hear of these. Especially the ones who appeared happy and didn't leave a note. It seems too suspicious in some cases. To answer your question, my cousin supposedly hung himself over a lost love.

When I was in Jr. High School, this girl committed suicide by over dosing on pills because she couldn't take the abuse she had been coping for so long by her mother. She was 14 when she killed herself.

I used to know someone who committed suicide. He died. He, like most suicides was mentally ill at the time and obviously unable to see things clearly or he would never have done such a stupid thing

I personally attempted twice.
The reason I did it was I was undiagnosed bipolar and was pretty much out of my mind. No one believed anything was wrong with me because I was young and bipolar is pretty rare in young people. I was so trapped in my head that death seemed like the only way to get out and to make it stop.
Oh I am tired. I usually don't share so much. LOL
\
Wow hotwix, could you be a less compassionate? Don't make sweeping judgements. Being trapped in pain and in your head is pure hell. If you've never been there, don't pretend to know.
I begged God to save me, for Jesus to save me, through blood and tears. It landed me in the psych ward. Take your "sin" and do something creative with it.

My Dad and no one knows why.
He didn't leave a note or tell anyone anything, a total mystery. He just shot himself twice, in the chest with a .357 handgun.
I hadn't heard from him in a week and called his neighbor to check on him, 30 minutes later, the police contacted me.
We (my siblings and I) talked to his friends and neighbors, no one has a clue what happened or why. Very sad.
