The problem with political correctness is that sometimes, proper/clear communication becomes impossible. I once read about a summer camp for "exceptional" children and I thought it was a camp for kid genuises. It turned out it was a camp for severely retarded and/or handicapped kids. Calling kids who need some extra help and training "exceptional" is one example of how p.c. can just cause poor communication. As one of the respondents said, the polite term for short females is "petite." This term still gets the message across clearly, but isn't offensive. I am not sure how you could describe a short man as anything but short. THough a recall a clothing store calling itself "The clothing store for the shorter man." If anyone teases you about your height, then it says more about them and their character than it does about you. Height like race and gender is something that the person can do absolutely nothing about so ridiculing someone over these qualities is just plain stupid.

You are free to describe yourself in any way you want.
However, the 'vertically challenged" idea is NOT an example of political correctness. It is one of many 'jokes' about political correctness that trivialise the real issues PC addresses, and are used by the media and people with their own agenda to 'tag' anyone being PC as a 'whacko'.
Cheers :-)

Robust has nothing to do with height. How about saying you are short. I am fat, I say I am fat, I AM fat; so what's the big problem, and why are people so **** sensitive. PC does NOT change the facts about anything. Only makes people more aware of the differences and uncomfortable in accepting them.

If you are loaded with a big kahuna then you're only short in one department, not two.
