If God exists (which is about as likely as Santa Claus existing), it is unlikely that He would care if we believe in Him or not.
"The idea of an omnipotent God who creates a creature capable of reason, then throws an eternal hissy fit when that creature doesn't spend all his time telling God how wonderful He is... Well it seems like rather insecure behavior for an all powerful, all loving being."

even if he existed, i don't see any reason to see him care whether we believe in him or not, but that's the point don't u see? god was created so that people can think that someone up there cares about them!

Lets just put it this way - YOU need GOD a whole lot more than God needs you!

Ones answer to this is greatly dependent on ones belief about the nature of God.
Personally, I feel it is imperative to him that we believe in him.
