Beach piers in central Florida? Not too sure about Gulf Coast, but really the only two ocean docks I can think of East Coast are Daytona Beach and Cocoa Beach, there's a few spots east (Ocean side) of the locks at Port Canaveral, and there are countless public parks with piers in the Indian River Lagoon, (Mosquito Lagoon, Indian River and Banana River), not to mention bridges, bank fishing and wade fishing (average depth of the IRL is about 4 and a half feet outside the channels). Then there's surf fishing.... I'd say go whichever direction you want to go, when you hit salt water stop at a bait store and ask what's been biting where, they'll usually point you right.

Good luck.

There is a little paperback book on Fl. fishing piers. I used to have one but no longer do. Had alot of useful info. Now I'm not even sure of the title, may just be Fl. fishing piers, but I know one exists. Maybe you can search and find it. If you're near Tampa, the old bridge by the sky bridge offers alot of opportunity.

specific you're allowed to fish off the sea coast. you do choose a license however. for Florida citizens on shore fishing is loose, yet you nonetheless are required to get a fishing license. besides the fact that there are fishing season's and length regulations do notice, plus some fish are secure.

Gimme nailed the question. I would just add:

Crystal River area-Steinhatchee/Cedar Key area have some "pristine" waters that rarely see a fisherman. If you want a trophy or "number's" of fish you would be wise to take the extra time to drive to the Big Bend area.

Go see it now before it becomes a Walmart/Public's/Strip-Mall!!!!!!!!! (lol)
