No, the embargo imposed by Kennedy (Dem) 35 years ago was because Cuba almost started WW III when they allowed Russian missiles on their land, and because they had supported communist insurrections throughout Central, South American, the Caribbean and Africa...

No, it is a leftover from a time when we were at odds with Cuba. Lifting it now wouldn't affect us and wouldn't fuel the spread of communism around the world.
