My brother just completed training to be an Army Medic. He is going to be stationed in Germany. I was wondering what kind of clothes medic's wear? Do they wear scrubs and white coats or just fatigues or what? I would ask him but his cell phone is messed up. Just curious. Thanks!

I don't really know what he did! He was in Basic at Fort Knox. He then went to Fort Sam Houston for medic training. It took him around 12 weeks.

It depends on the uniform of the day.

He has the option of the duty uniform, (Is that ACU's now? Was BDU's when I was in.) or Class B's, or Whites (very similar to what the cooks wear). On very special occasions, he'll wear his dress uniform.

Most places don't use scrubs unless he's subject to contact with bodily fluids (like OR, ER, ICU, etc.).

Most often, he'll be in Whites or BDU's (ACU's, whatever...)

For the guy in front of me...8 weeks of general medical orientation, basic life support, shot class, advanced life support, and field training. That's basically it.

It depends on what type of medic I was a 91B10 (that number does not exist now) but it was a field medic and i trained at Fort Sam where all medics train. I mostly wore fatigues, but later when I worked in a hospital I wore whites.

In Germany he'jj probably be in the field a lot and wear fatigues, it just depends on his actual assignment.

There are a lot of places where he will rotate to different positions, hospital, aid clinic, line unit, depends on where he happens to be, all the medics Ive seen in a hospital put a scrub top on and leave the rest of their uniform on.

entirely dependent on the situation. if he is in a hospital, he will wear appropriate clothing for the duties, ranging from scrubs to Class As. if he is a field medic, he'll be in fatigues.

Hmmm, I'm interested in being an Army Medic - what exactly did he do for training?
