The Holy Spirit is God to be treated with utmost respect and reverence. It is more than just denying or abusing the Holy Spirit, since the Apostle Paul before conversion did these things. I believe to blasphemy the Holy Spirit means to pervert the true nature of the spirit in any way. For example, whatsever things are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, good, virtuous and worthy of praise is the essense of the Holy Spirit. Anyone who does evil acts while professing they are acting in and through the Holy Spirit would be blasphemy, such as child-abusing priests, adulterous ministers and particularly false teachers and prophets.

Jesus said all manner of sin and blasphemy will be forgiven man except blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. His followers have struggled with the meaning of that simple sentence since. When Simon the Magician offered to buy the Holy Spirit from Simon Peter, he was told to pray for himself to see whether he could be forgiven. He was a Magician and worked by a code of ethics to pay for knowledge on how to perform tricks other magicians used, so he probably didn't mean any blasphemy by his question. Many fundamentalists say it means to reject Christ as personal savior because accepting Christ as personal savior is how we get to heaven, therefore, not accepting Him would be the only unforgiveable sin. Blasphemy technically means to defame a sacred Name or use a sacred Name as an expletive (cursing). It makes sense to believe that if God did assign a sin as unforgiveable it would be one that could not be committed accidentally or lightly. The literal understanding of the sin would not be the same as committing the sin.

In Matthew 12:31, 32 The Pharisees had blasphemed against the Spirit by attributing the power by which Christ did miracles to satan (12:24), instead of the Holy Spirit. The unpardonable sin is the deliberate refusal to acknowledge God's power in Christ. It indicated a deliberate and irreversible hardness of heart. Sometimes believers worry that they have accidentally committed this unforgivable sin. But, only those who have turned their backs on God and rejected all faith have any need to worry. Jesus said they can't be forgiven -- not because their sin is worse than any other, but because they will never ask for forgiveness. Whoever rejects the prompting of the Holy Spirit removes himself or herself from the only force that can lead him or her to repentance and restoration to God.

saying that the the Holy Spirit is evil.
Jesus was accused of doing good work and Miracles by the power of the devil. He let them know that it was not possible for that to happen. Satan can not be divided by or against himself.
The Bible says that if you say something against the Holy Spirit, that is an unforgivable sin. All else can be forgiven.
Kind of like when someone says, there is no Holy Spirit!

It was ascribing Christ's works to demoniac influence.
These Pharisees had already committed it. They had attributed the works of the Holy Spirit by whose power Jesus wrought his miracles (Mat_12:28) to the devil. That sin was without excuse and would not be forgiven in their age or in the coming one (Mat_12:32). People often ask if they can commit the unpardonable sin. Probably some do who ridicule the manifest work of God’s Spirit in men’s lives and attribute the Spirit’s work to the devil.
Many believe it is dying without ever repenting, that is, living your life arrogant enough to die without thinking you ever needed God.

It basically means to remain in a state of unbelief in light of or in full view of the marvelous workings of the Holy Spirit

I'm sure this question came up when you posed this question in "already asked questions" or "similar questions". It's only been asked a billion times.

1) being stubborn "I will separate the goats from the sheep"
2) not helping the poor "and Lazarus' wounds were licked by the dogs."
3) Not dressing properly "and they found he was not properly dressed, and so they tossed him out of the wedding feast where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth
4) letting the world overcome your faith. "and there was seed that fell upon rock, where it dried up."
5) being rich. "it is harder for the rich man to enter into heaven than a camel to go through the eye of a needle
6) being an adult. "unless you become as one of these (a child) you cannot enter into the kingdom of God"
7) holding a grudge: "when he saw that he had not forgiven his fellow servant his debt, the King became angry and threw his servant into prison until the debt had been paid in full."

I'm sure you can find TONs of reasons God throws people into hell for sins against the HS. All of the above qualify.

As others have said, basically claiming that the work of the holy spirit is the work of Satan.

Witnessing Jesus using the power of the holy spirit to perform a miracle, then calling it a result of demon possession, or sorcery.

It means telling a lie, but more so, speaking falsely and attaching God's name to it. For example, most preachers who preach 'prosperity' teaching, because of certain passages in scripture, are blaspheming. It is also saying that His word means something OTHER than what it says.
