My co-worker and I were faxing documents, we were standing next to the printer and we saw that our boss had printed out a letter. I didn't want to be nosy, so I didn't read it...but I was able to read that he was filing for bankruptcy. My boss hasn't said anything to us but I'm getting paranoid. Does this mean I should start looking for a new job??? I've been working for my boss for 3 months. The last boss I had let me go because he couldn't pay me anymore. He had too many lawsuits( he's a doctor)

So now I'm worried about this new boss. Should I worry??? should I start looking for a new job??

To add details he has his own agency. So he pays me, not the company.

Filing bankrupcy doesn't necessarily mean the business will close down, but it's certainly not a good sign. I'd look for another job, because if he shuts down or has to cut back, you might not get much warning.

Good luck.

If he is bankrupt I would look for another job immediately rather than wait and be out of a job all of a sudden. It's good you got some advance notice...get going.

Added later after your comment: If he pays you personally, all the more reason to look elsewhere. Fortunately you are in a field where there are many opportunities.

It would depend on how much liability the owner has in the company and what kind of business it is. Is it a sole proprietorship, a partnership, a limited liability company, etc.? This makes a huge difference.

Yeah those pesky twinkie makers ought to have only close up. in basic terms fools face as much as the guy. those workers are there to take demands! no longer lead them to! Hostess ought to have placed down their iron fist and overwhelmed the contest. The Hostess workers ought to have only took their losses kinda like our elderly who became scammed out of their materials and set adrift with a seven hundred greenback a month government verify. Oh, by using the way, Hostess became already considering financial ruin in the past the strike.
