Both of those kinds of Christians are brainwashed. Brainwashing has taken on only a negative connotation during the Vietnam War. It didn't always used to be thought of as a negative thing.
Brainwashing could have meant that you were getting an education about something. And that's the way I mean it now. Brainwashing is merely a change of thought patterns, and I wish some people would have their thought patterns changed! They NEED a brainwashing. example: Murderers.
Now I agree that there is disagreement within certain Christian denominations, and I lean towards the side that says that the Trinity is true. Some go to far with that and say that they "Worship the Trinity".
I would say that they had a disagreement, but I wouldn't try to pick a fight unless I wasn't interested in having a amicable conversation.

Neither...
"You alone, Jehovah, are the God above all other gods in supreme charge of all the earth." (Psalms 83:18)
"...Jesus said ...The Father is greater than I am."
(John 14:23a,28c)
The holy spirit has no name, while God, his Son, & the angels all do have names. This shows that God's holy spirit is not a person, but rather a thing: God's active force.
Nowhere in the Bible do either God or Christ claim that they are equal to each other in any way, other than that they are united in principle & purpose...
The purpose of Christ's human sacrifice was to provide the Exact Redemption Value for humankind, so that they could eventually become sinless again...
However, had Jesus been equal to God, the value of his life would have FAR EXCEEDED the value of humankind, putting mankind into even deeper debt to God.
Then again,
If Jesus had actually been God, he Could Not have died,
as God cannot die, thus there would be no ransom at all.
(Hab 1:12; 1 Ti 1:17)
Death is the compete cessation of life, not just transfering from one life form to another. Jesus was completely nonexistent for parts of 3 days, 'in the bowels of the earth'.
"Jesus ... stated: 'Just as Jonah spent three days and three nights in the belly of the whale, so will the Son of Man spend three days and three nights in the bowels of the earth.'" (Luke 11:29-32; Matthew 12:40, The New American Bible)
God's Word does not contradict itself. However, false teachings certainly do contradict the Word of God.
Christians are those that follow closely in Christ's footsteps, & he studied, & quoted from --or referred to-- the available Scriptures extensively.
If the idea of the Trinity had been so important, they surely would have made it known. Yet, nowhere in actual Scripture do either state that they are equal in power &/or authority to each other, or, any indication that the holy spirit is a person of any rank whatsoever.
('Misled' may be a better word to use than 'brainwashed', although both can lead to the same, negative outcome.)

Now let's be honest here, you know that there will be some that say one way, some that say another, some that say neither, and probably some smart alic who will say both.
If you're really concerned about this, you should ask God, saying:
"Are you one big blob of Godliness, or are Christ and the Holy Ghost your partners (not sexually, of course.)"
Read Galatians 5:22-23 in order to recognize the answer.
If you're just trying to cause contention, then three separate Beings, suckers! Oh, and I think I'll add that the Father and the Son have bodies as tangible as ours. Stick that in your pipe and schmoke it.
