There have been some studies testing the probability of this. Obviously, none of the above answerers have seen them.
"All studies show that although it is true that passive inhalation of marijuana smoke results in absorption of THC in the body, none of the levels from the non-marijuana users were high enough to cause a positive result, by current cut-off standards."
It should be noted that these studies were conducted with people enclosed in very small spaces (cars, small rooms) with no ventilation, and the people were right next to each other. In your case, I would assume that there would at least be a window open somewhere, and that your house isn't as small as the rooms in the studies were. As long as your friend isn't blowing smoke in your face, you'll probably have like .00001 trace amount of THC in your urine, which would not show up on a drug test.
You're safe. No need to worry.
P.S. I'm interested as to what the results of your test will be. I'm 99% sure that you will pass, but I'd still like to know for sure. If you wouldn't mind, could you send me an email once the test results are in? Thank you.

If they are smoking it in the house while you are in the house, then most definately, you can test positive.
If your friend is really a friend, and you aren't into drugs in any way shape or form, they should be willing to at least respect you enough to not smoke around you. If they won't stop while you are in the house with them, you don't need them as friends or roommates

respiratory in small quantities (or maybe great quantities) of marijuana smoke that comes out of yet another man or woman's lungs shouldn't get you severe and it won't take place on a drug try. Drug exams all have a threshold volume for a good result, 2d hand marijuana smoke (no rely if from a guy or woman's lung or from the residual smoke that comes from lights a joint, pipe or bong) won't convey you above the brink. except your parents lock you in an unventilated closet and throw a extensive bale of burning marijuana in there with you, the only incorrect thank you to get severe off marijuana or obtain a good drug try for THC could be to inhale marijuana smoke rapidly out of your in demand smoking gadget. The "touch severe" is all on your head, except of direction your parents burn kilos of weed interior the hearth at night and vent the exhaust rapidly into your room.

Not likely. If you do fail it you can say "My grandma was visiting my family, she smokes because of Glaucoma" or other things like that. you can honestly tell them you don't smoke or do drugs. its best not to say "my roommate smokes" because the job ppl will say "move" or "well this test reveals you smoke too"
which really is complete crap- i hate job ppl who overemphasize drug tests and they lump in pot with the real bad drugs.
drug tests are notoriously inaccurate. and if you're unlucky they can get tampered with but that usually happens when someone knows you and they have a vendetta.

YES!!! Don't let any one tell you different. The smoke will penetrate your pores in your skin and you will test positive. Did you know that if you do cocaine like ten years ago that today you could test positive? Yes you can. The test is done with your hair follicle. Science...gotta love it!!!

If the smoker is smoking around you, it might because you'll be breathing the smoke too.
In any case, is that a chance you really want to take?
